the 1992 rock song echoed
through the federal courtroom,
while the music drew blank
stares from plhers.
The band claimed in its 1995
lawsuit that Miller used the song
without permission in TV com-
mercials hawking Miller Lite Ice
Beer.
The band wants $25 million
and an injunction against any
further use of the song.
Miller contends the commer-
cial used a common musical
composition.
During opening statements,
lawyer Joseph Schleimer
recounted the band’s start and
told jurors the song was about
two men vying for the affections
of a woman.
“(Lead singer) Chris Barron
will tell you (that) one of his
greatest moments was hearing a
janitor singing his song,”
Schleimer said.

Harley woman Ann-Margret donates bike to cafe
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Ann-
Margret, motorcycle aficionado,
donated a bike of her own at a
ground-breaking ceremony for a
Harley-Davidson Cafe.
She also used the occasion
Tuesday to give another memen-
to — a jacket emblazoned with
her photo across the back.
It will hang in the restaurant,
which will feature memorabilia
from the actress and Elvis Pres-
ley.
For the actress, it was a home-
coming of sorts. In 1960, as a
teen-ager, she got her first big
break, appearing with George
Burns in a song-and-dance rou-
tine at the Sahara Hotel in 1960.
Later she teamed with Presley in
the movie “Viva Las Vegas,”
which featured both stars riding
motorcycles.
