children and housekeeper as they
left on an errand on Halloween.
When Mrs. Thomas snatched
the car keys, the actor “grabbed
her by the neck/chest area and
then grabbed her right wrist and
pushed her in an arm lock and
forced her almost to the ground,”
the police report said. Rubin
called it “a police hold. That made
the children cry.”
Thomas calls his wife’s account
“an absolute, blatant lie.”
He said he was trying to talk to
the housekeeper and his wife

her arm for about 10 seconds until
she let the keys go, and I let her go

SANTA MONICA, Calif. (AP)
— Barbra Streisand stepped into
the limelight long enough to make
a few quips about big hair, former
beaus and her own secluded life. •
She had good reason: her friend
and frequent music collaborator,
composer-producer David Foster,
was receiving an award for his
philanthropy.
“I can’t believe they got me out
of the house to honor somebody
who isn’t running for office,” said
Streisand, a friend of President
Clinton.
Streisand recalled first meeting
Foster in a studio in the 1970s
while recording a song.
“I kept hearing this piano riff
and I liked it,” she said during the
tribute Wednesday. “So I said
’Who’s playing that?’ Somebody
said ’It’s that guy with the hair.’
And I said ’Which one?’ Because
back then everybody had hair.”
“And they pointed him out to
me and I said, *Oh, he’s cute and
he has great hair.’”
“And I knew hair, because I was
going with an ex-hairdresser at the
time,” she said, referring to Jon
Peters.
The event raised $2.1 million
for the Neil Bogart Memorial
Fund, which conducts research
into the treatment of leukemia,
cancer and AIDS in children.

Remembering you on your birthday...
Don’t think of him at gone away
His journeys just begun.
Life holds so many facets this earth is only one.
■ Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears.
In a place of uarmth and comfort, ’
where there are no days and yean.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today,
How nothing but our sadness can really pass away
And think of him as a living in the hearts of those
he touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost,
And he was loved so MUCH...
“Though his smile is gone forever and his hand we
can not touch, we still have so many memories, of
one we loved so much”
The photo album of my mind
Holds treasured tfioujftts of you,
And I can almost see again
The tfiings we used to do.
I heap your voice; I see your
smile; I feel you close to me.
The photo album of my mind
Shows how it used to be.
Time may have changed us
through this past year,
But I will always be fine
You're just as I remember in
The album of my mind
And as I turn page after page,
Such precious scenes I see.
The photo album of my mind
Is very dear to me.
It holds the pictures of our fast
like reels of film unwind
I cherish all those photos in
The Album of mind.
I Daddy,
We know your
blaze in glory will be
brighter than the blaze
that took you from us.
You left too fast...
too soon...
We miss you!
