Lily Mae King, 96, of Bay-
town, died Tuesday, Feb. 3,
1998, in a local hospital. ■
Bom on Jan. 2,1902, in Rock-
dale, King had been a resident of
Baytown since 1923.
A homemaker, she was a
member of East Side Baptist
Church.

Betty Wilkerson, 76, died
Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, in her
home.
She had been a resident of
Baytown since 1987.
Wilkerson is survived by her
husband of 40 years, W. T. Wilk-
erson of Baytown; daughters,

Wager of San Diego, Calif; Dar-
lene Wilkerson of Los Angeles,
years. Calif.; granddaughters, Christine

Walter “Scott” Hines, 78, died
Tuesday, Feb. 3, 1998, in Hous-
ton after an extended illness.
Born in Deerfield, Ill., Hines
was a resident of Anahuac for
the past 50 years. He served in
the United States Army during
World War II.
He retired from the oilfield
industry as a driller and was a
member of First Baptist Church.
Hines is survived by his wife,
Elveen Hines of Baytown; son,
Wayne Hines and wife, Jeanne,
of Baytown; daughters, Laura
Hill of Desoto; Lisa Hines of
Anahuac; three grandchildren,
Wes, Stefanie and Andrea.
Visitation will begin at noon
today at Sterling Funeral Home
in Anahuac.
The funeral service will be
held at 11 a.m. Friday at the First
. Baptist Church in Anahuac with
the Rev. John Bender officiating.
Burial will follow in Anahuac

Jennie Chenet Marshall died
Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, in her
home in Crosby. ’ ,
Born on Nov. 11, 1923, in
Lutcher, St. James Parish in
Louisiana, Marshall was one of
twin daughters of Alvin Louis
Chenet and Isabel Landry
Chenet.
After completing high school
in Lutcher, she attended St.
Mary’s Dominican College in
New Orleans. Marshall graduat-
ed from the University of South-
western Louisiana in Lafayette
with a bachelor of science
degree in chemistry.
LLOYD GEORGE
Lloyd George died Tuesday,
Feb. 3,1998, in a local hospital.
Born on March 17, 1923, in
Phoenix, Ariz., George received
a master’s degree from the Uni-
versity of Missouri in Columbia.
He was a member of Sigma
Delta Chi, a professional jour-
nalism fraternity.
A veteran of World War II,
George served in the Air Force
where he was awarded the distin-
guished flying cross and air
medal with six clusters.
He flew in 37 combat mis-
sions.
George is survived by his wife,
Fran J. George of Baytown; son
and daughter-in-law, Drew and
Diana George of Dallas; daugh-
ter and son-in-law, Melody and
Robert L. Marberry Jr. of Bel-
laire; grandchildren, Christopher
and Victoria Lynn George of
" Dallas; Robert Drew and Taylor
Marberry of Bellaire.
Graveside and interment ser-
vices will be held at 11 a.m. Sat-
urday at Hillcrest Cemetery in
Ardmore, Okla.
In lieu of usual remembrances,

Alice Fontenot White, 82, died
Sunday, Feb. 1,1998, in a Hous-
ton hospital.
A resident of Crosby for 62
years, White was born in Big
Cane, La.
She was a member of Shiloh
Missionary Baptist Church
where she served as a mission-
ary sister.
She also spent time as a care- A resident of the Baytown area
taker for the elderly.
She was preceded in death by
her daughter, Clydie J. White;
son, Cleveland White; brothers,
Levi and Foster Fontenot and
sister, Lula Griffin. ’
TOMMY LEE BAKER
Tommy Lee Baker, 68, of
Channelview, died Wednesday,
Feb. 4,1998, at his residence.
Born on April 24, 1929, in
Nacogdoches, Baker was a sales-
person for A-P-T Lock and Key
Co.
He had been a resident of the
Channelview area for more than
50 years.
Baker was a member of the
Northshore Masonic Lodge,
jfhriners, htbrth Channel Area
Chamber of Commerce and the
' Northshore Rotary Club.
He was a veteran of the United
States Army during World War
II.
He was preceded in death by
his brother, Donnell Baker.
Baker is survived by his wife,
Patricia A. Baker of Chan-

Jr., 47, of Dayton, died Saturday,
Jan. 31, 1998, in a local hospital.
A native of Tulsa, Okla., Guice
lived in Dayton for the last five
