IT’S NO
SECRET!
The artistic hand of Arleen
Gaba was seen in the lovely
Christinas motive and decora-
tions used for their Open House
last weekend. Looking espec-
ially glamorous was hostess
Arleen in a lame brocade
sheath with matching shoes;
Liz Jones vivacious in a red
wool sheath, Bobbie Smith in
black, Earlene Gentry in a
two piece red lace and daught-
ter-in-law Betty Faye in shim-
mering brocade with floating
black lace panels; Laura Jones
looking much too young to be
the mother of Fritz and Bob in
a turquoise wool sheath......
INTERESTING CHRISTMAS
GIFTS we've heard about is
the elegant new Mercury
Comet of George Elias, Kevin
Lynch's go-cart, the beauti-
fully packaged tangerines and
tomatoes from her own garden
in California that Betty Me
Coy received from her sister,
and from the sublime to the
practical in one family, a
jeweled pin with "Dearest
spelled in jewels, and an elec-
tric frying pan....
WEATHER turned cold and
freezing this past week, and
despite the chill that seeped
through to the bones, it was
rather nice to look up and see
the mountains with blankets of
snow,... the long days are on
the wane now and those of us
who like to sleep will have to
begin giving some thought to
revamping our routines.....
ESPECIALLY ATTRACTIVE..
is the lilting Irish brogue that
Father Casey slips in to from
time to time........LOOK-
ING FORWARD TO SEEING IN
DELL CITY IN 1967 — perhaps
a new bank, a doctor in resi-
dence at the Clinic full time,
new tennis courts at the school,
steel street signs , the water-
sewage system completed and
in operation, maybe a new in-
dustry or small feed lot; road
to Cloudcroft, the start of
flood control projects, some
new residents to our Valley.
MAY 1967 be a Healthy, Hap-
py and Prosperous One to Each
of our readers!

"The new John Deere 450 Wide-
Blade Chisel Plow is a moderate-
ly priced implement for stubble «
mulch farmers, " says Jack Lynch
of the C L Machinery in Dell
City. "Wide blades clear out
weeds economically and effi-
ciently. . .yet leave surface res-
idue that prevents wind erosion
and conserves moisture. Sweeps
work under the soil as fast as
available tractor power allows.
"Total working width is 17
feet" says Mr. Lynch, " and the
three-section frame provides
flexibility". Each section has
one 6-ft hard-faced blade.
Blades overlap for complete
coverage.
Steel tubing, 4x4 inches and
4x2 inches is welded into a
strong, durable framework. Tool
standard and frog are an exclus-
ive John Deere design. The stan-
dard is only 1 l/4inches wide.
Underframe clearance is 28 in.
Simple, compact design in-
cludes a rockshaft and swivel-
lift mechanism that eliminates
cables and pulleys. A single
hydraulic cylinder provides
accurate depth control... and
the same cylinder can be used to
raise outriggers for transport.
