plaining of severe headaches,
later his muscles in the left lag
stiffened and his family doctor
diagnosed it as a slight case
of Poliomylitis and he was tak-
en to Houston.

A delicious dinner and lunch
Was enjoyed by all.
The bride was beautiful in
her satin gown fashioned with
an elongated bodice, full skirt
which depended into a cathe-
dral train. The long sleeves ex-
tending over her wrists were
trimmed with flared Cafe un
lait net cuffs tiered with satin
and trimmed with small bows.
The neckline was round and al-
so trimmed in the same net
tiered with satin and shirred in
front with small bows. She
wore a heart shaped coronet
trimmed with small sprays of
orange blossoms from which
fell her long vail of bridal illu-
sion. Her bouquet was made of
a white orchid showered with
white baby asters and white
tube roses tied together with
a bow of white satin ribbon
and trimmed with puffs of
silk net. -
The groom wore a teal blue
.suit and an aster buttonaire.
Witnesses were Mr.. Frank
Kocian, uncle of the bride and
Mr. Joe Steffek, Jr., brother of
the groom.
Mrs. Jerry Kucera, sister of
the groom and formerly of N,
York, was matron of honor.
She w^s,dressed in a yeUow taf-
feta floor lengdi dress made
with off-the-shouldar neckline
and a wide collar, flared skirt
’trimmed down the back with a
descending ruffle and on her
head she wore''a lieart shaped
bonnet with shoulder length
veil made of yellow net. She
carried a colonial bouquet of
yellow asters .
Bridesmaids were Misses Eve-1
lyn Tupa, 1’tftherine Bujnoch,
and Bertie Bujnoch. They wore
floor length dresses of blue taf-'t
feta identically made with off-
the-shoulder necklines trimmed •
with scalloped collars and ball f'
fringe. The skirts were full and I
gathered over the hip lines.
Their heart shaped bonnets
fwere made of blue net and tied
with big bows. They carried
;colonial bouquets of yellow as-
ters.
The bestman was Mr. Jerry
Kucera, recently arrived from
New York.
The groomsmen were Messrs
Philip Bujnoch, George Bujnoch
and Johnie Matula. They wore
white aster buttonaire.
After the wedding ceremony
the bridal party returned to the
home of the bride’s parents
where a sumptuous dinner and
supper was served to a large
group of relatives and friends.
The employees and families
of the Lavaca County Butane
Company enjoyed a
barbecue at the home

ly erected cottage in Shiner.

A wedding of great interest
was solemnized at the St. Ma-
ry's Catholic Church Tuesday
morning, August the 10th when
Mr. Alphonse
handsome son of
Jos. Steffek, sr.
ville and Miss
Bujnoch,- the pretty and popu-
lar daughter of Mir. and Mrs.
Rudolph Bujnoch of Halletts-
ville were married at an early
7 o’clock Nuptial Mass per-
formed by Rev. Hy. Psenclk.
The bride entered the church
on the arm of her father to the
strains of a wedding march, fol-
lowed by the bridal party and
was rntf at’Wfe'‘Altar By the
groom.
The altar was beautifully de-
corated with white gladioli,
white asters and lace fern.

America held their regular
monthly meeting at the Parish
Hall Friday night, August Sth
at 7:30 o’clock. Mias Antonia
Janacek, vice-grand regent pre-
sided over the meeting in the
absence of 1 Mrs. Frances
Strauss, grand regent. ,
It was brought to attention
the need of linens for the Sac-
red Heart Convent. A commit-
tee was appointed to further
discuss this matter with Vwy
Rev. A. J. Morkavsky, chap-
lain. A second collection will
be taken up at the Masses on
August 15th for the purchase
of these linens.
