Hundreds of thousands of per-
sons are now sensitized to pen-
icillin and are unable to take
. it without getting skin out-
breaks or other re actions, some
of which can be serious and
even life threatening. The
drug still remains one of the
most effective of all antibiotics
and in some infections can
accomplish what no other can.
Now it appears that, when
urgently needed, newer peni-
cillins can safely be used in
90% of patients with penicillin
allergy.
The synthetic drugs- ampici-
llin, methicillin, oxacillin, and
phenethecillin, have been
used in 75 patients. One had

accute shocklike reaction to
natural penicillin, the others

Dear Loretta:
I hope you can help rue with my problem. You see, I've been
going with a boy for two years and six months, and I'm also en-
gaged to him, that is I was. About a week ago he took my engage-
ment ring away for no reason. We didn't even get in an argument.
Anyway, he called me, and told
me not to bother and call him,
that he didn't want to go out with
me for a long ti me. But yet
he said I had better not go out
with anyone else. I don't want
to go out with other boys but
my sister-in-law said that if he
said all of that and took my en-
gagement ring back that I should
never go back with him. I love
him but don't know what to do
any more. Please help me in
what I should do, and answer my
letter so I could know.
IN LOVE AND IT HURTS BAD
Dear In Love.
This lad obviously wants to
have his cake and eat it, too.
Your sister-in-law has givenyou
good advice. Forget him.

FORGIVING HUBBY
Dear Loretta:
I married very young. I was
only 16 and my husband was much
older, he was 36.1 was very sp-
oiled and always wanted my own
way no matter what, and if I
didn't have it, beware. Johnny
was very understanding, at le-
ast he tried to be. However, soon
after we were married I felt I
wasn't good for him and I did
some pretty horrible things. I
drank to excess and flirted with
other men something awful.
These things and everything else
I did wrong he forgave. Soon
it seemed to me that all he ever
did was forgive me. I told him
I'd change but I couldn't. When
we'd been married for nearly a
year I found out I was pregnant.
I wanted to die. I realized my
child could not be happy if I
stayed with Johnny since I felt
I was bad for him. So I left my
husband. He ran a large circus
and I was sure he'd soon forget
me and the child.
Five years have passed and
my daughter is very beautiful ana
well behaved ( she takes after
her father). She's only seen him
twice and the first time shewas
only one month old. ) My husband
has come to see me and told me
he was still waiting for us to
come back to him for he still
loves me very much and he wants
our child and many imore lust
like her. I told him I didn't
know, but I'd get in touch with
him.
So now I don't know it I sh-
ould go back to him or not. I'm
scared. I don't know what to do.
Please help me. I still love him.
