TIRED OF LONELINESS
En Espanol
FELIZ NAVIDAD
Noche Buena y Navidad es-
tan una vez mas con nosotros,
hace 1967, anos que nacio Aq-
uel que no puede tener igual,
El que nos dio a los Cristianos
la mejor herencia que puede
recibir un humano, la mas
rica y la mas bella. Todos
aquellos de nosotros que ya
hemos pasado en este mundo
algunas docenas de Navidades,
sabemos de las carreras, aprie-
tos y apuros en que nos mete-
mos conforme se acercan estas
fiestas, observamos el ajetreo
de chicos y grandes y termina-
mos por contagiamos con las
actividad reinante. En nuestras
primeras primaveras, saltamos
del lecho y con gran alegria
procedemos a destapar el o los
regalos que nos trajo "Santa
Claus", la hora del almuerzo
con toda la familia reunida
resulta un pandemonium en el
que los alimentos a pens si son
tocados y lo que queremos es
salir a ver a nuestros amigui-
tos para mostrarles nuestros re-
galos y ver los de ellos. En
una platica de sobremesa, re-
cuerdo haber escuchado esta
anecdota: Tratabase de una
familia humilde en la cual
habia varies hermanos que ha-
cia mucho habian pedido una

WANTS ADVICE
Dear Loretta:
I have some questions that
need answering and I think
you can help me. (1) Should
you close your eyes when you
kiss or dance? (2) Should you
date a boy who is an inch or
two shorter than you are?(3)
Is it proper to dance with
your head on a boy's shoulder;
(4) Is it all right to date other
boys if your steady is mad
and he's dating other girls?
(5) What should you do when
you go to the movies with
a girl friend and you see her
boyfriend with a boy you know
and like and they want to sit
by you?
I would appreciate your
answers to these questions.
BETTY
Dear Betty:
(1) People instinctively dose
their eyes when they kiss.. If
your dancing partner is any
good, he'll keep his yesu open
so you can dose yours. (2)
Why not? (3) That depends.
If your partner is an inch or
two shorter you might develop
a crick in your neck (4) Yes.
Dear Loretta:
My problem, in one word,
is loneliness — I feel alone
and lonely although I live
with my parents and brothers.
I work also with eight people.
I go to an evening class three
times a week I am not a
member of any club (the city^
here is small •. and the clubs
here are for gossips only —
that's why I don't join any).'
I need so badly to meet
someone (boy or girl) —some
one to talk to dosely. Some-
one I can tell my depth and
inside feeling freely. My
dealings with people do not
exceed the usual formal rou-
tine words and I get tired of
this kind of dealings . I
trust people to a certain ex-
tent. I feel I am a social
£nd friendly type. Could it be
that the whole world is im-
personal ? The ghost of lone-
liness forms all my fears —
fears for the future and the
present. May I have your
advice and suggestions?
Thanks a lot!
. VEEZEE
Dear Veezee:
habian portado bien; habian
trabajado y ayudado a sus pa-
dres; habian si do obedientes y
habian cumplido, asi es que
ahora tocaba su turno a los pa-
dres, quienes, como ya dijimos
eran humildes. Haciendo un
gran esfuerzo economico el pa-
dre consiguio una bicileta de
segunda-mano y el dia de Na-
vidad la encontraron los mu-
chachos al pie de su cama. Con
gran alegria la sacaron a la
calle y empezaron a pasearse.
El mayor de los hermanos se
acerco al padre y dijo: "Esta-
mos muy contentos con la bi-
cicleta y con Santa Claus que
se acordo de nosotros, pero sa-
kes una cosa? pues fijate que
Santa vino en ella porque se
le nota que ha caminado mu-
cho".
Que cosa tan maravillosa ser-
ia que en lugar de celebrar un
solo dia la Navidad, la celebra-
ramos siempre, sin regalos ma-
terials, con solo regalos es-
pirituales y no solamente den-
tro de cada familia, sino con
los vecinos y amistades, los
patrones y los empleados, en
otras palabras los de arriba con
los de abajo.
(5) Let them.

SALT FLAT NEWS--
(Continued from Page 3)
now on top of these eight layers
ofpaper money, dump 3, 806 tons
of silver dollars and the money
on that football field would rep-
resent the economic loss we suf-
fered in Texas for the year 1966.
The $557,414,000 estimated
loss for this one year would buy
10,000 homes at $20,000 ea.
10, 000 refrigerators at $400 ea.
10,000 electric ranges at $350
10,000 TV sets at $350 ea.
10, 000 dishwashers at $300 ea.
10,000 automobiles at $3,000
10, 000 central air conditioning
units at $1,400 each and furnish
the head of each of the 10,000
households with a bank account
of$29,914.
Friendliness generates
friendliness in turn. If you'll
stop fighting "ghosts", you
will melt a barrier which you
have erected self-consciously
between yourself and others.
I know that the old saying,
"Smile, and the world smiles
with you" sounds trite, but,
believe me, it'Strue.

Room for Improvement
Pity the poor American bath-
room! Suddenly, it’s become the
target for the barbs of archi-
tects, engineers, and interior dew-
signers criticizing its lack of
comfort and imagination.
How long has it been since you
surveyed your bathroom? Is it as
convenient and attractive as it
could be? If it doesn’t measure
up, remember that you can
quickly achieve a bright trans-
formation with some perky
strokes of the paint brush or
roller.
One of the new glare-free en-
amels, like Acme’s Fashion-Right
Satin Enamel, is a boon to your
redecorating project. Especially
good for a busy place like the
bathroom, Fashion-Right dries
over night to a durable, wash-
able finish. What’s more, it’s vir-
tually odorless and comes in a
rainbow of colors.
Your bathroom may have been
“white on white’’ for years, but
it certainly doesn’t have to stay
that way. Let youi’ walls echo
the soft hue of a favorite set of
towels, the bright color of a
shower curtain print, or any col-
or that’s your heart’s delight.
But be careful not to select
any yellow-green tones, say the
Acme experts, as these tend to
give one’s skin a “seasick” ap-
pearance-something we all want
to avoid. Instead, choose one of
the many complexion-flattering
shades of Fashion-Right Satin
Enamel in pink, peach, rose,
pure green, or gold.
With a beautifully subdued
color on the walls and a few
inexpensive matching accessories
—like soap dish, tissue box, bath
mat, and wicker stool—“the poor
American bathroom” is trans-
formed into the All-American
beauty!
