Senator Ed Howard announc-
ed recently that the deadline for
farmers, ranchers and those in
the dairy industry to register or
re-register marks and brands on
their cattle is fast approaching.
That registration deadline is
August 30, 1981.
In a letter from Attorney
General Mark White, Senator
Howard was encouraged to re-
mind individuals in his district
that, during 1971, a bill was
passed which requires that all
marks and brands be registered
with the County Clerk and that
these marks be re-registered
every 10 years.
This measure was taken in
order to properly identify own-
ership of livestock and the reg-
istration must be recorded re-
gardless of when the brand was
originally processed.
