Rodney Felix
Rodney Eugene Felix, 35,
was bom to John B. and Bobbie
Jean Felix on Aug. 19,1963 and
died on Monday, Sept. 14,1998.
He professed a hope in Christ
at an early age and united with
St. Stephens Baptist Church. He
attended Austin schools.
Two sisters, Brenda Wilson
and Cherly Felix-Rivers; and
one nephew, Brandon “Buttie”
Felix, preceded him in death.
Annie Kyser-
Annie Kyser, age 97, for-
meriy of Austin, died Sept 20,
1998 in Elgin. She was a mem-
ber of Onion Creek Baptist
Church in Austin.
Annie was bom on April 5,
1901 in Bastrop County to John
Henry Guynes and Emma Chil-
dres Guynes.
She is preceded in death by
her parents; husband, Harvey
Wright Kyser; twin daughters,
Oleta Maye and Juanita Faye;
four sons, John Wilburn Kyser,
Brown; two brothers, John B.
Felix, Jr. and Rory Dewayne
Felix, all of Austin; brother-in-
law, Ronnie Rivers of Austin;
paternal grandmother, O'Leslie
B..Felix of Upton; and other
nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles,
cousins and other relatives.
Services were held Saturday,
Sept 19 at St Stephens Baptist
Church in Austin with the Rev.
Robert Walker officiating.
Chester Ardell Kyser, Melvin
Vermeil Kyser and Bland Mead
Kyser; two grandsons; one
granddaughter; three sisters,
Maggie Guynes, Katy Kyser
and Faye Banks; and three
brothers, Edgar, Henry and
Chester Guynes.
She is survived by a son,
H.W. Kyser and wife Martha of
Austin; daughter, Artis Cham-
bers and husband Carl of
Manor; four daughters-in-law,
Virginia and Margaret Kyser, of
Survivors include his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. John B. Felix Sr.;
children, Kendra Wilson and
Tanoya Wilson (their mother,
Sheila Wilson, preceded him in
death); Enjoli Felix, Timiyon
Felix and Antwan Cavanaugh
(and their mother, Bemedette
Cavanaugh); Trelesha Fresch
and Marissa Felix (and their
mother, Tracy Fresch), all of
Austin; one sister, Brenda Felix-
Austin, Helen Kyser of Topeka,
Kansas, and Charlene Kyser of
Manor; sister-in-law, Rene
Guynes of Austin; 29 grand-
children; 57 great-grandchil-
dren; seven great-great-grand-
children; and other nieces,
nephews and friends.
Funeral services were held
Tuesday, Sept 22, 1998 at the
Colonial Chapel of Cook-
Walden Funeral Home, Lamar
location. Burial followed at
Spiers Cemetery.
Hans and Bethany Yeager are September Recycler of the
Month for Bastrop County. They make regular runs every 2-3
weeks to <lrop off their household recycling.
Paige meeting to be Friday
The annual Paige Community
Center membership meeting
will be held Friday, Sept 25 at
the center.
The election of officer’s for
the next year and a report on the
past year's operations will be
presented. Membership dues for
1999 can be paid at the meeting
or mailed to the Paige Commu-
nity Center, P.O. Box 177,
Paige, Texas 78659.
A pot luck meal will begin at
7 p.m. with coffee and tea pro-
vided. The meeting will begin at
8 p.m.
All Paige community resi-
dents are invited to attend. . I
.BMS groundbreaking planned
BCEN auction
set for Oct. 3
The public is invited to attend
an auction sponsored by the
Bastrop County Environmental
Network (BCEN), to be held
Sat, Oct. 3 at 1 p.m.
A wide range of valuable
goods and services to be sold at
the auction have been donated
by Bastrop County merchants,
residents and others.
Examples of items to be sold
include two tickets to any desti-
nation served by Southwest
Airlines, 100 gallons of
propane, works of art by local
artists, 10 autographed books by
the renowned science fiction
author Michael Moorcock and
much more.
The auction will be held rain
or shine at the building housing
BCEN's office, located at 1001-
A Tahitian Drive, the brown
WCID building on the left just
after turning into Tahitian Vil-
lage. After entering Tahitian
Village, take the first road to the
left. Plenty of parking is avail-
able. The building is easily visi-
ble, and extra signs will identify
the auction.

Ernest (Frank) Armstrong —---------
Ernest Franklin (Frank) Arm-
strong, 55, of Cedar Cre$k died
on Friday, Sept. 18,1998 after a
short battle with cancer.
He is formerly of Pflugerville
and was a member of the
Plumbers & Pipefitters Local
Union No. 286.
He was bom Jan. 13, 1943 to
Earl and Jewel Armstrong, who
preceded him in death. He is
also preceded in death by his
brothers, Wallace, Thomas, Ho- r

(Skeeter) Armstrong.
He is survived by daughter,
Terri Woodmancy, and her hus-
band, Gary of Austin; long-time
companion, Carolyn Kay
LaFrance of Cedar Creek; sis-
ters, Janelie Mansfield, and
husband, Bill of Bastrop,
Brenda Duke, and husband, Bud
of Austin, and Linda McCool,
and husband, Kenneth of Ralls;
brothers, J.W. Armstrong, and
wife, Debbie of Bastrop, and
Richard Armstrong of Austin;
granddaughter, Chelsea Renee
Weodmaney of Austin] gwpri r
son, Cody Woddfttfocy#
also of Austin and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held
Monday, Sept 21 in the Colo-
nial Chapel of * Cook-Walden
Funeral Home, Lamar location,
with Rev. George V. Reswik of-
ficiating. Burial followed at
Cook-Walden/Capital Parks
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ronnie
Mansfield, Darrell Mansfield,
Jay F. Armstrong, Mildred
Johnson, David Whiteaker and
Jerry Evans. Honorary pallbear-
ers were Leonard Hoistine, Jerry
Goldstein, Larry Goldstein,
Quint Calderon, Mike Arm-
strong and Todd Purcell.

the Bastrop school district's new
middle school. The ceremony
will be held at 6 p.m. on Tues-
day, Sept 29 at the site of the
new middle school located on
the Old Austin Highway.
The new middle school is
scheduled to open in the fall of
1999 for Bastrop's seventh and
eighth graders.
School board members,
school administrators and city
officials will be participating in
the groundbreaking ceremony.
