Guest In Stalls Home
Visiting in the home of Mr. and
Mrs. James Stalls over the week-
end was their daughter, Konye,
who attends school in Levelland,
Dough Guthrie and Gary Crawford,
both of Iowa Park. Randy Stalls,
who was a student at Texas Tech
is home for the summer.

Color Film "His Land" To Be
Presented In White Deer
A special invitation has been ex-
tended to all persons to attend
a film presentation, "His Land"
to be shown in the WDHS aud-
itorium on Friday evening, May
21 at 8:00 p. m.
The film, "His Land" is a mus-
ical journey into the soul of a
nation and will be starring, Eng-
lands popular star, Cliff Ricahrd,
singing six Ralph Carmichael's
songs and also starring Cliff Bar-
row.
"His Land" will be shown on
free will offering by a Billy Gra-
ham film representative on the
one night showing..
Members of the First Baptist
urge everyone to attend.

Mrs. Hawpe Enroute To Calif.
Due To Death Of Sister
Mrs. Miller Hawpe left Monday
enroute to California where she
was called due to the death of
her sister, Mrs. Leola Barlow.
Funeral services will be held
at 2:00 p. m. Wednesday, May
12 in Gustine, California.
Survivors include her husband,
Fred of the home; one son, James
and one sister, Mrs. Darlene
Hawpe of White Deer.

Baptist Women Meet
With Mrs. C. C. Kelly
Mrs. C. C. Kelly was in charge
of the program of the Baptist
Women Tuesday morning at the
home of Mrs. Lansin Osborne.
Mrs. W. B. Carey read the scr-
ipture, II Samuel 15: 1-9 with Mrs.
Joe Mitchell leading the prayer.
Mrs. Kelly was assisted by Mrs.
Earl Alexander, Mrs. Jay Phillips
and Mrs. Joe Mitchell in pres-
enting the program, "Training
National Leadership", Mexican
Baptist Thrust to the Future. The
Baptist missionaries work with
the students in Mexico.
A table of relics from Mexico
were shown to the group.
The next meeting will be with
Mrs. W. B. Carey.
Attending the Tuesday meeting
were Mmes. Arthur Phillips, W.
B. Carey, Earl Alexander, C. C.
Kelly, W. Bate,',- Jay Phillips,
Bertha Williams, and hostess,
Mrs. Lansin Osborne., and Joe
Mitchell.

Visiting in the Earl Alexander
home over the weekend were the-
ir children, Earletta from Lubbock.
Deanne from Liberal, Kansas,
and Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Alex-
ander and daughter, Doris, from
Perryton, Texas.

LARRY LOCKE TAKES
PART IN DAIRY CONTEST
Larry Locke, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Dare Locke, participated in
the Dairy Cattle Contest at Tex-
as Tech and out of 400 partici-
pants placed first as high indiv-
idual in the entire dairy cattle
contest. He scored 275 out of a
possible 300 points in winning
this honor. R. T. Laurie present-
ed Larry his awards at the Awards
Assembly Monday of this week.
He also received an award for
being Second high Individual in
Judging of Holstein cows.
Larry did an outstanding job in
placing these dairy cows as did
Rick Cagle and Nelson Britten
the other two team members. Be-
cause of placing high in the Tech
Contest they were able to enter
the State Judging Contest.

Bob Blodgett, pictured above,
has been announced as the win-
ner of the 1971 Dekalb Agricul-
tural Accomplishment Award,
given to outstanding seniors in
Vocational Agriculture Depart-
ments. He was Chosen to receive
this award on the basis of scholar-
ship, leadership and his super-
vised farming program. Bob is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Blodgett of White Deer.
