Patrick and Vickie Sobotik of Yoakum are pleased to announce the
engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Kimberly
Sobotik, of Katy, to Bryan Salerno, of Katy. Bryan is the son of Michael
and Lynn Salerno of New Port Richey, Fla. The wedding will take place
Nov. 8 at 2:30 p.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Sweet Home.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Elstner. The bride-
elect is a 1995 graduate of Yoakum High School and a 1999 graduate
of Texas A&M University with as BBA in Marketing. She is employed
by JPMorgan Chase as an Information Specialist. The prospective
groom is a 1994 graduate of Riverview High School in Sarasota, Fla.
and a 1998 graduate of the University of Florida with a BSBA in Deci-
sion Information Systems. He is employed by Alltel Communication as
a Technical Architect.

Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Boehm
Candice C arol Barnes and Mat-
thew Christopher Boehm were united
in a double ring ceremony on July
12, 2003 at St. Thomas Aquinas
Catholic Church in College Station
with Father Dean Wilhelm as cel-
ebrant.
The bnde is the daughter of Doug
and Sharon Barnes of Waxahachie
She is the granddaughter of Mrs.
Burlene Bames and the late Alfred
Barnes of Granger and the late Mr.
and Mr. Jun Mulholland of Granger
Hie groom is the son of Ron and
Jan Boehm of Yoakum He is the
grandson of Mr. and Mrs Alfred
Boehm, Sr. of Shiner and Mrs.
Evelyn Chumchai and the late Rich-
ard Chumchai ofYoakum.
Soloist Robert Dale Chumchai,
cousin of the groom accompanied by
pianist Mrs Diana Steelman, sang "1
Have Loved You" as guests from cit-
ies across Texas were seated by ush-
ers Trey Nixon, Bnan Boehm, Jason
Dean, and L.J. Chumchai. Grand-
mother and parents were seated dur-
ing the playing of"Jesu, Joy ofMan's
Desiring" by Bach and attendants
entered to "canon in D" by Pachebel.
As the "Bridal Chorus from
lohengnn" by Wagner was played,
the bnde entered on the, arm of her
father and was given in marriage
Other musical selections included
"One Bread, One Body" sung by
Robert Chumchai during Commun-
ion, and "Ave Mana" sung by Anita
Kapchinski as a meditation hymn.
Honored guests were the gnx>m's
godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie
Chumchai, and the bnde's godpar-
ents. the late Mr. Jim Mulholland and
the late Ms. Aggie Donohue.
Programs were handed out by the
groom’s cousins, Molly and Katie
Chumchai.
Scripture readings were by
Michael Chumchai, uncle of the
groom, and Jim Slaton, cousin of the
bnde. Ihe responsonal Psalm was led
by Charles Slaton, cousin of the bride.
, The bride's dress was from
David's Bridal Collection. It was a
white sleeveless ballroom gown, with
a sweetheart neckline Ihe top was
encased on white pearl beads, fall-
ing into a sweetheart waste line. Ihe
skirt and train of the gown was cov-
ered with organza and small designs
with white pearl beads. Ihe veil con-
tained a headpiece that matched the
beadwork of the gown, with an or-
ganza veil.
Her bouquet was a rose nosegay
New supervisor
named at TxDOT
Effective Sept. 1, 2003, Rob-
ert Herman became the new main-
tenance supervisor for the Texas
Department of Transportation in
DeWitt County taking over for
Alroy Malina who retired Aug. 31.
Herman has been with TxDOT
approximately four years working
as an inspector in the Yoakum area
engineer's office. Herman and his
wife. Loma, reside in Yoakum.
They have one daughter, Kaci,
who is two years old.

groom from Ft. Hood; Chns Bames
and Cody Bames. brothers of the

The groom wore a black tuxedo
with white vest white satin tie. and a
w hite rose boutonniere Groomsmen

blue vests, navy blue bowties and
single red rose boutonnieres
The mother of the bnde wore a
beige pant suite with a lace top and
long sheer jacket flowing in front and
back with a red rosebud corsage.
The groom's mother wore a
champagne tea-length gown with a
sequined jacket and a red rosebud
corsage

and bowties and red rose-bud bou-
tonnieres.
The bnde's cake was four tiered
and columned delight trimmed with

followed at the Hilton Grand Ball

guests enjoyed a dinner of beef bos-

trimmings A happy, energetic grand
march was led by Felix and Janette
Chumchai, great uncle and great aunt
of the groom. An evening of danc-
ing visiting and merriment was en-
joyed by everyone
The couple left for their honey -
moon in a limousine to Austin, leav -
ing from there to Playa Del (. armen.

Business in Marketing from Texas
A&M College Station in 1M99 and
her Master of Business Administra-
tion from Texas A&M Commerce in
2003.
Matt received his Bachelor of
Science in Industrial Distribution
from Texas A&M College Station in

Administration from Texas A&M
Commerce tn 2003. and is now em-
ployed at Dell Computer m Austin

formance of Friday nights football game The Proud and Spirited Bull-
