brate his life and cherish the
memory of this wonderful
man. He was a wonderful and
laving husband, father and
grandfather and a very special
person to all who knew him.
His son John and grandson
John Erwin were the apples of
his eye. He loved them dearly.
Otis had understanding, com-
mitment and a wealth of sto-
ries, which will be a legacy to
all who knew him. He
inspired a light in each of us
to help us view this world in a
new and wonderful way. He
always found time to share a
story with everyone he came
in contact with. He truly
enjoyed his work and loved
helping people. Being in the

Mary Ellis, 87, of Baytown
passed away on Tuesday,
February 17,2004. Mary Ellis
was a resident of Baytown for
over 50 years. During that
time she became an active
member of Cedar Bayou
Baptist Church, where she
taught Sundry School for
many years. Mary was a
member of her church for
over 50 years. She enjcyed
quilting and taking care of her
family and friends.
Mary is preceded in death
by her husband, WB. “Buck”
Ellis; parents, J.C. and Hallie
Latham; brothers, Nelson,
Charles, J.D., Tom and Jack;
and sisters, Ruby Brown and
Sue Rodriguez. She is sur-
vived by her two sons and
daughter-in-law, James Ellis
of Friendswood, TX and
Keno and Paula Ellis of
Baytown, TX.; grandchildren,
Chris Ellis of Austin, TX and
Kelley Ellis of Baytown, TX;
and 4 sisters, Francis
Aubuchon of Jacksonville,
TX, Florence Ocker of Rusk,

tennis scholarship. He served
his country honorably in the
U. S. Army. He was a member
of Memorial Baptist Church
and past Sunder School
teacher at First Baptist
Church, a Rotarian for 42
years, a State Certified Real
Estate Appraiser, served as
President, Secretary, Vice
President and Broker of the
Year of the Farm & Land
Institute, Regional Vice
President and Governor of
Farm & Land Institute, mem-
ber of the following: Texas
Real Estate Political Action
Committee, International Real
Estate Federation, Realtor of
the Year in 1969 for the
National Association of Real
Estate Board, award by Texas
Association of Realtors for
Outstanding gains in member-
ship, Houston Board of
Realtors, National Director of
Farm & Land Institute, Past
President of local Board,
Director of Texas Association
of Realtors, Texas Property
