Monday, June 18, Vacation Bible
School began on schedule at
Lueders Baptist Church. Avoca
Baptist, Avoca Methodist and
Lueders Baptist joined together to
host “The Polar Expedition," fea-
turing “Klondike,” played by Les
Mims, music director at Avoca
Baptist Church. Klondike visited
the children daily sharing his ways
of preparing for this expedition. He
kept the children amused and in-
spired as his triumphs tuned to tri-
als and vice versa.
Dennis Huffaker, pastor at
Avoca Methodist, played his guitar
to everone’s delight as he led the
praise and worship in song.
By Wednesday, June 20, a count
of the children was fifty-four
showing an increase from thirty-
eight. The children definitely
looked forward to each evening. I
overheard, “We have to go!” A
child declared when the parent was
asked to bring the child back the
next evening.
All week the children looked for-
ward to Friday Evening, June 22,
when the VBS Bunch met at Stam-
ford City Pool for their Swim Party.

school with the most votes by the
end of December wins 7.500 for
their school . Please help Oliver
students by doing this for us.
Oliver is the only school from
Stamford participating this fall.
Thank you!
