We were sure glad to see the cold
front move in on Saturday morn-
ing. The temperature was in the
90's almost all week and it’s so
disappointing that we can’t gel any
moisture. We would even take
some snow. However, we are en-
joying the cooler weather.
Football is still the topic at the
coffee shops and it keeps every-
one busy. Congratulations to the
Aspermont Lady Hornets on tak-
ing top honors on the District
Cross Country Meet The team
included our own Erica and
Amanda Peters and Aubrey Jo
Westbrook. Nice going young la-
dies.
Our little community was buzz-
ing with excitement this past week
end The Old Glory Lodge annual
sausage supper and the Commu-
nity Center monthly musical both
had a full house. Can you imag-
ine approximately 500 people
gathering in this small community.
Sure would be fun to have a large
gathering of folks more often.
Beunice Vahlenkamp, Carm
Letz and Laramie Creasey all at-
tended the baby shower honoring
little Riley Chayce Pippin and his

lovely evening and folks came
from far and near. Congratulations

We are all saddened by the fire
that destroyed Paul Brown s home
in Old Glory on Friday evening.
He was not there at the time and
no one was hurt, but everything
in the home was a total loss.
Our musical crew reported a
great musical with standing room
only on Saturday evening in the
Community Center. The entertain-
ment was enjoyable and as always,
the concession stand had lots of
good food. There will only be one
more musical this year on Novem-
ber 22. so be sure and mark your
calendar. There will not be a mu-
sical in December Winning the
door prizes on Saturday were
Delia Craft of Aspermont and Sam
Smith from Sweetwater. Getting
the prize for coming the furtherest
