Oliver Elementary had their an-
nual Family Literacy Night to cel-
ebrate reading T uesday night, April
7lh. Approximately 200 students and
families came to the event. Mrs.
Clifton and Mrs. Musemeche
planned multiple events for all to
enjoy. There was an Oliver Detec-
tive school where students could
have their fingerprints recorded for
their parents to keep on record.
Patty Daniels carried out this pro-
cess. Students could also make
walkie talkies, major mirror drink-
ing cups detective glasses and
“wanted posters”. After they fin-
ished these activities they were
awarded a certificate for complet-
ing Oliver's Detective School.
Outside, alumnae of Oliver El-
ementary presented a detective play
in the Out Door Mystery Theatre
that the Kiwanis Club had made

In another room, students and
parents were technology detectives
as they figured out the detective
game on the internet. Students
were encouraged to “Leave Your
Finger Print on a Good Book” in
the Scholastic Reading Counts lab
Secret messages were made with
lemon juice and with coding wheels
in the “Secret Message” room. “
Follow the Trail” was a book walk
where students won books to take
home.
Pocket ladies roamed the halls
giving out magnifying glasses for
students who collected clues and
figured out what Oliver teacher like
to hear students say. The answer,
of course is I LIKE to READ.
The spring book fair in the li-
