"HI, THERE. I’M LULU. I may look a little sad in my picture.
Actually, I am sad that my family had to give me up due to health
issues in the family, but I'm happy I will get a chance to make your
family happy if you choose to give me a new home. Please ask
Sue about me at the Humane Society 325-636-8945. She'll tell
you what a fine girl I am. You won't be sorry and I won't be sad."

Editor: The articles con-
cerning the hospital were
interesting but some details
were confusing as a proper-
ty owner. For example: Are
you saying that only the
people with property will be
taxed? Does that mean that
only property people will be
able to vote? Property
owners have had their
share of paying taxes over
the years and it seems we
are being punished for own-
ing property.
I do hope the citizens of
Coleman realize we have
had our own problems own-
ing property and raising
livestock. Furthermore, if
everyone is taxed then I will
be the first to apologize . I
will say that my hospital
taxes in another county is
one third of what I pay in
Coleman. AND I also know
the majority of population in
Coleman are either retired
or on social security; but the
needs are met by our hospi-
tal with good doctors. The
beautification appearance
of a hospital is nice but tak-
ing care of patients is more
important I do hope these
questions will be answered
in Thursday meeting since I
am unable to attend. Thank
you for your time!

Hello to All:
Another really quiet week
out here. Didn't go any-
place or do much of any-
thing. This recent "cold
snap" really slows things
down. The only excitement
was that Judy saw a good
size flock of wild turkeys
make their way through the
back yard. The cats, Tobi
and Angel, really wanted to
go "play" with them.
Nope...those guys are twice
your size. The
Roadrunners were out back
but just ignored the
Turkeys. It is a species
thing with them.
Just watching the weather
and hope the frozen rain
and snow goes North of us
the same way the rain
seems to do us. Need to go
to San Angelo on Monday
but won't risk it on slippery
roads.
And a word from Maureen:
HM and I went out to lunch
on Tuesday, early Valentine
celebration. Afterwards, we
went to Walmart in
Brownwood.

I have been concerned
about my friends in New
England. As I write, they
are on their 5th Blizzard,
just one after the other.
They are concerned for
their roofs, a problem we
can't quite fathom here in
the Southwest.
On Sunday, we left church
and drove to Brady for
lunch with HM's daughter
and her family. They had
been in Richland Springs
visiting friends. After lunch,
they went on home and we
went to a different Walmart
in Brady. Actually, the only
difference was the
Valentine candy was
marked down. We drove in
to the Rockwood cemetery
on our way home. I saw
that flags needed replacing
and would like to put new
flowers on the graves of our
loved ones. We got back to
Talpa in time for church,
Good timing.
And so it goes in out quiet
little corner of Coleman
County.
