DELL VAI LEY
Dell Valley has chilly temperatures in early mornings, 30 and
40 degrees. Our weather is more like early Springtime than
winter. For several days now, gathering fluffy white clouds and
dark clouds build up daily recently. A few sprinkles fell this past
week, nothing measureable, but the rain was nice to smell. If
our mild weather continues, pretty soon buds will be found on
trees and plants.

works for the Chicago Tribune. Linda and Paul’s home is in
Columbus, New Mexico, where they like it very much.
The gannet is a large
white sea bird with
black-tipped wings. It
often helps fishermen
because it follows
schools of herrings and
other fish and thus
shows where the fish
are. The gannet dives
from the air and plunges
under the water for the
fish.
This week the Hudspeth County Livestock Show will be going
on -Friday and Saturday. - January 23 and 24 in Sierra Blanca.
It’s one of the biggest events of each year in Hudspeth
County. It draws a big crowd. Good luck to the participants,
and to those who managed the Show.

PASTOR S COLUMN
Pray or Cry - Or Both
Everybody prays. At times. But not much. The
Bible says, “Pray without ceasing.”
Hannah didn’t pray much. So she cried quite a bit
and was terribly depressed. She had a big problem. She
had no children and that was awful. Her husband’s other
wife made fun of her. Sometimes Hannah felt so bad she
wouldn’t eat.
But on day something happened. Hannah stood
up. .And-of all things-she began to pray. She actually
began to talk to God. Her problem was so great. In
“bitterness of soul Hannah wept much and prayed to the
Lord.”
She told someone afterward, “I was pouring out my
soul to the Lord.”
Eli the priest told her, “Go in peace, and may the
God of Israel grant you what you have asked of him.”
Hannah “went her way and ate something, and -get
this!—her face was no longer downcast.”
And God gave her more than she asked for.
God wants you to talk to him often every day. It
really helps. He really helps. Just do it!
