Death Takes Kin
Of Smyer Woman
James H. Barker, father of Mrs.
Willie McNeely of Smyer, died Tues-
day in 8t. Mary’s hospital, Lubbock.
The 56-year-old man lived on Route
5 out of Lubbock.
Final rites were held at the
Church of Christ in Abernathy
Tuesday afternoon. Burial in the
Abernathy cemetery was directed by
Plains Funeral home, Lubbock.
Survivors are Mrs. Barker; two
sons, Elvis Barker of Lemesa and |
James D. Barker of Wellington;
and three daughters, Mrs. McNeely,
Mrs. Newosa Agnew of Hurlwood
and Mrs. Naomi of Route 5, Lub-
bock.

Congressman George Mahon has
(eturned to the District and will
spend the brief time remaining be-
tween now and the July primary
Visiting among tthe people of the
19th District in the Interest of his
candidacy for reelection.
It will be Impossible for him
to thoroughly cover the 25-county
district and see all of the quarter
million people of the great area
which he represents in Congress,
The Congressman has been at
