WMU Monday
The WMU of the Fifth Street
Baptist Church climaxed their
year’s work with a Christmas
party Monday afternoon in the
Church Assembly Room, which
had been beautifully decorated
by the Senior Sunday School
Class.
Before the program Mrs. T. W.
Moore, class teacher, presented
each one presnt with a Christmas
corsage.
The program “What Christmas
Means,” in charge of Mrs. J. H.
Hallford, opened with group sing-
ing of Christmas carols.
Mrs. Woodrow Worthington
read the scripture, followed by
discussions of “Christmas is a
Season of Worship,” “Christmas
Season of Giving,” and
•"Christmas is a Season of Oppor-
tunity,” by Miss Neva Cummings,
Mrs Carl Dotson, and Mrs. Glynn
Reid, respectively.
A poem on “The Christ” was
yead by Mrs. Lena Bell Pirtle,
and Mrs. Guy Hicks concluded the
program with the reading,
"Peace on Earth, Good will to
Men.”
During the social hour follow-
ing the program, gifts were ex-
changed among those present,
and also sent to shut-ins.
The WMU presented the Pas-
tor’s wife, Mrs. Hallford, with
> Chenille Bedspread and a Floor
Lamp.
