Larry. We went to church Christmas Eve and then drove
around and looked at the lights. Christmas Day we enjoyed
opening our gifts and Christmas dinner. My son, Scott Lewis,
came by Christmas Day to see his grandparents and then
returned to the Wind Mountain Ranch. Scott and his wife
Becky and baby Emily spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
with Becky’s family at Radium Springs.
It was Christmas week and Crow Flat families gathered to
celebrate this special holiday. The weather was cold! The
morning temperatures were well below freezing with some
reports of temperatures in the single digits. Wednesday and
Thursday were very windy with an extremely cold chill factor.
Jonna Lou Schafer and Dale Leith spent Christmas in
Albuquerque with Dale’s family. They stayed with Dale’s
mother, Pat Leith, and spent Christmas Day with Dale’s sister,

Christmas Eve with Bob and Elizabeth Jones. She spent
Christmas Day at the home of Andy and Nora Lea Lewis.

home in Clovis.

their daughter Deborah Hickox and her children, Mecca and

home. Bobby and Pat Jones were there. Fritz and Martha Jones
came from Dell City and Jane Schafer also joined the family.
They enjoyed an excellent dinner, eggnog, and good visiting.
Bobby and Pat’s daughter Michelle Greeman and her husband
Ty and their son Trey went to Oklahoma to spend Christmas
with Ty’s parents, Pat and Kathi Greeman.
Thursday, December 27, the B. Tom Holmsley family was at
Comudas Mountain for a picnic and family gathering. There
was family from all over the world. They came to visit where
their early ancestors lived back in 1903 - 1904. Sonny and
Winnie Neely were there from Sierra Blanca. Sonny was
a cousin through marriage to Tom Holmsley. Tom lived at
Comudas Mountain when he was a young boy. He died in
1994 and a memorial marker was placed at the mountain last
year. Everyone enjoyed the day in spite of the cold and wind.

Millie Dean to Artesia to spend the night with their daughter,

good time visiting. The Bartlett family returned to their home

had spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Gary’s
family in Ruidoso. I joined the family that evening and we
enjoyed more eating and playing cards.
Wednesday evening, Andy, Nora Lea, and Janet came to my
house to celebrate a Christmas get-together with my family.
Travis and G.R. came over and Scott and Becky and my
granddaughter Emily came over from the Wind Mountain
Ranch. We had supper and exchanged our Christmas gifts. It
was good to have my family together.

sad news. James received word that his brother, Jerry Wayne

three daughters. A memorial service was held in Hobbs, NM
