Slinners?
The inmates of an Australian
insane asylum have organized a
form of government. We have
that a committee of the Texas
legislature be sent over there to
get some ideas.
A Houston department store
was opened with prayer. There
were few prayers said by the
mob of bargains hunting women
after the rush started, how-
ever.
“Autoists are not responsible
for all the accidents,” says a
Safety First advertisement in
the Houston Post. No, the negro
chauffer who ran over Post-
master House in Houston the
other day was not responsible.
The negro had just been bonded
out of jail by his white employer
—a physician—a few minutes
before he ran over Mr. House.
The negro had been arrested for
speeding and had just been re-
leased, consequently assumed
the right to turn over anybody
who didn’t get out of his way
quick enough. The white doctor
should be held responsible and
sent to jail about thirty days for
employing a negro chauffer be-
cause he could get him cheap,
and another sixty for going on
his bond after he had once been
arrested.

/ER 65 YEARS’
EXPERIENCE
Peoria, Ill.. March 13.—Two
men were killed and two deputy
sheriffs and a woman wounded
as the result of an attempted
hold up of a Chicago and North-
western freight train at Manlius,
III., 45 miles north of here, to-
day.
Arthur Fisher of Pekin, Ill.,
engineer of the train, was .shot
dead by one of the bandits and
an unidentified robber was slain
in a battle with a Sheriff’s posse.
The wounded deputies are Leslie
Byers, son of Sheriff Byers of
Princeton, and Bert Skroglund,
also of Princeton. Mrs. Wright,
wife of the station agent at Lang-
ley, Ill., was struck by a stray
bullet, but is not believed to be
seriously wounded.
Two more robbers surrender-
ed and a third was arrested at
Chillicothe, Ill.

Timber Will Pay for the Home
Many people are now making a living and paying for land and improve-
ments from the proceeds of the sale of timber cut from land they are clear-
ing for farm purposes. Our tract No. 37 is an exceptional opportunity of
that kind :

PIANOS
Have a reputation equal to any
Popular-Priced Instruments now
on the market. A Schubert
Piano lately sold to Miss Erna
Weber at New Ulm was pro-
nounced by local music teachers
to be equal in tone to any high-
priced instruments in the town.
The McCallon Piano Company
of Houston are South Texas distributors of the various brands of Schu-
bert Pianos. We have two that they left in our charge that Miss Adela
Frnka will be glad to demonstrate to any person wishing to buy a Piano.
These instruments are on exhibition at the old stand of the Daily
Enterprise, and holders of McCallon Piano Company certificates can get
them or any other Schubert Pianos at a marvelously low price.

Cream Separators
When you buy a cream separator you want the
best machine you can get for the money, don’t you?
Well, then, just listen to this proposition:
Before you order a “mail order” separator write
to the concern ahd tell them that you want to try
their machine out against a De Laval, with the priv-
ilege of sending their machine back if you decide
that the De Laval is better worth what we ask you
for it than their machine is worth what they ask.
That’s absolutely fair, isn’t it?
We’ll be glad to furnish you a De Laval for such
a trial any time you like and let you be the judge.
We are glad to make this offer because we
know that the De Laval will give you better
service and cost you less in the long run than
any other machine you can buy, no matter
what the price.
If you already have a mail order
separator, or any other for that mat-
ter, which isn’t giving satisfaction,
we have an exchange offer that
we believe will interest you.
Before you buy a Cream
Separator see and try a
