Austin -Texas Secretary of
State Mark W. White, Jr.,
today issued a reminder to
any qualified persons wishing
to participate in the Novem-
ber 5th General Election that
they must be registered by
October 5th, 1974. A voter re-
gistration application may be
obtained at the County Tax
Assessor-Collector's office in
the applicant's county of re-
sidence. The application may
be filed either in person or
by mail.
Many counties maintain
branch offices in various lo-
cations throughout the county,
and deputy registrars may be
assigned to other areas. The
Tax Assessor-Collector's off-
ice should be contacted for
specific information.
Secretary White noted that a
registration is valid for three
years and is automatically ex-

tended for the succeeding 3-
year period by voting in a pri-
mary or general election. Con-
sequently, many voters who
have participated in prior el-
ections need not make appli-
cation to renew their regis-
tration.
