Ruby D. Garbs, 85, died
Monday, November 28, 2005
at a local hospital. Bom in
Sealy, Tx, she lived in Crosby
most of her life. Ruby was a
member of Crosby United
Methodist Church, the Eastern
Star, and CUIC. She was pre-
ceded in death by her husband
W.J. “Bill” Garbs and her
grandson, Bruce Garbs.
Survivors include her daugh-
ter, Helen Woodman and son
John Garbs and his wife
Sandra, her sister, Helen
Jones, her sister-in-law,
Gardina Kristynek and her
aunt, Matjorie Kollhofif, 4
granddaughters, Jean Beadle
and husband Steven Thrasher,
Julia Powell and husband
Clint, Marcie Schaffer and
husband Don, and Suzie
Garbs, 6 great grandsons,
Garrett Beadle, Watson
Moore, Clay Thrasher,
Cameron Powell, Colby
Thrasher and Bryce Garbs.

November 28, 2005 at his resi-
dence in Longview.
Dr. Watkins was born July
25, 1938 in Olney, TX, and
had been a resident of .
Longview since 1964, moving
from Austin. He received his
Master’s and PhD in organic
chemistry from the University
of Texas in Austin and was a
retired organic chemist with
Texas Eastman Co. in
Longview. He was an avid
sports car racer.
Those left to cherish his
memory are his wife, Billy
Watkins of Longview; chil-
dren, Tracy Utz of Longview,
Laurie Carpenter of
Beaumont, Jill Hancock and
Jennifer Smith of Grange,
Sheri Pierce of Leaksville,
MS; and Jaime Buckhannan of
Longview; brother, Jerry
Watkins of Aledo, TX; sister,
Delia Anheiser of Sugarland.
TX; 13 grandchildren; and 2
great grandsons.

Manuel Ojeda Rodriguez
' went home to be with the
Lord on November 26. 2005,
in Plano, Texas. He is pre-
ceded in death by his wife,
Dolores Nieto Rodriguez,
and parents, Carlos and
Dorotea Rodriguez as well as
several siblings and other rel-
atives. Manuel spent most of
his youth in Houston’s
Second Ward. He served in
the U.S. Civilian
Conservation Corps and
Merchant Marine. He is a U.
S. Army World War II veter-
an. He was very active in his
home parish, Blessed
Sacrament Church. He is a
member of the Knights of
Columbus Msgr. J. J. Davis
Council, a 4th degree
Knight with Msg. Wilhelm
Assembly. He has left his
imprint in his community
and with his family. He left
his family a legacy of love
and memories. He is sur-
vived by his daughter, John
and Enriqueta (Henri) Lazo
of Plano, TX; grandchil-
dren: Adrienne and Larry
Lapomarda, Frisco, TX,
Mimi and Randy Rogers,
Frisco, TX, Carl and Kristi
Lazo, Plano, TX, and
Monica and Michael
Mongaras, Plano, TX, great-
