BIBLE VERSE
Do not be anxious
about anything, but
in every situation, by
prayer and petition, with
thanksgiving, present
your requests to God.
And the peace of God,
which transcends all
understanding, will guard
your hearts and your
minds in Christ Jesus.

On a beautiful Friday evening, hun-
dreds of cancer survivors walked side
by side while hundreds more cheered
them on during an emotional survivor
lap at the 20th annual Bay Area Relay
for Life.
From 21-plus-year survivors to
those recently diagnosed, all were
there to support one another in the
fight, and all were there to raise money
to find a cure.
One such survivor was Bonnie
Woodard, who along with with her
son and grandson were dressed as su-
perheroes — Bonnie was disguised
as “Killer Frost” because she’s “killer
freezing” those cancer cells, while her
son Randee and grandson Gage were
disguised as the Flash because they ’re
both “flashing” through chemo.
“Relay means life to me. It means
the more times I come and the more
lives I see here, it means we’re win-
ning and cancer’s losing.” said Bon-
nie, who was diagnosed with invasive
carcinoma breast cancer about four
years ago, which is now in remission.
“And you’re not alone. 1 hope every
year that I come it gets bigger and big-
ger and bigger ”
And for Gage “the Flash” Woodard,
he said his grandmother puts the life in
Relay for Life.
“We’re Woodard strong all life
