NEW YORK (AP) Rue
McClanahan, the Emmy-winning
actress who brought the sexually lib-
erated Southern belle Blanche Devereaux
to life on the hit TV series "The Golden
Girls.” has died. She was 76.
Her manager, Barbara Lawrence, said
McClanahan died Thursday at I a.m.
at New York-Presbyterian Hospital of
a brain hemorrhage.
She had undergone treatment for breast
cancer in 1997 and later lectured to can-
cer support groups on "aging gracefully.”
In 2(X)9. she had heart bypass surgery.
McClanahan had an active career in
oft’-Broadway and regional stages in the
1960s before she was tapped for TV in
the 1970s for the key best-friend char-
acter on the hit series “Maude." starring
Beatrice Arthur. After that series ended
in 1978. McClanahan landed the role as
Aunt Fran on “Mama's Family" in 1983.
.. But her most lov ed role came in 1985
when she co-starred with Arthur.

his home. He was bom November 20,
1942 in Swifton. Arkansas to his late

At age 85, went to be with her Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday,
May 27,2010, in Pearland, Texas after
a long illness.
Bom August 29, 1924 in Wewoka,
Oklahoma. Maxine is preceded in
death by her beloved husband of 66 years,
Asa Moss, parents Robert Ben Boyd and
Gladys Pauline Hoover Boyd, brothers
Robert Boyd. Raymond Boyi Earl Boyd.
Ben Boyd, and sister Edith Meeks.
She is survived by her son Donnie
Moss of Baytown and grandchildren
Rebecca Moss-Gush and husband
James of San Antonio, Texas, Rachel
Moss of Fort Worth. Texas, and Klaire
phies, Konrad was a member of three
area car clubs and past President of tw o.
Konrad is survived by his loving wife,
Sandra of 49 years, 4 sons whom he
loved more than they will ever know,

Bobby had lived in Mont Belvieu for
the last 30 years, was a retired shipping
operator from Chevron after 18 years
of service and was a US Air Force
Veteran. His enjoyments included fish-
ing, hunting and being outdoors and he
was a vintage car buff.
He was preceded in death by his par-
ents; brother, Larry Hunter and a son,
Jeffery Lynn Hunter.
Survivors include his wife. Judy Hunter
of Mont Belvieu; children. Kimberly
Frazier and her husband Scott of
Houston, David Andrew Hunter of Mont
Belvieu. Melanie Vela and her husband
Richard of Iowa and Daniel Ty Hunter
of Arkansas; brother. David Hunter of
Arkansas; sisters. Linda Walker and her
husband John and Patricia Scott and her
husband Charles all of Arkansas; 7 grand-
children and numerous nieces, nephews,
other family members and close friends.
The family will receive friends from
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Thursday. June
3. 2010 at Navarre Funeral Home.

Gunn. age 73. of Leona, Texas, are sched-
uled for 10 a.m., Saturday, June 5.2010
at the Walters Funeral Home Chapel in
Centerville. Texas. Rev. Joe Dacus. pas-
tor of the Leona Baptist Church in Leona,
will officiate and interment will be held
in the Williams Cemetery at 3:00pm in
Mont Belvieu. Texas. Walters Funeral
Home in Centerville. Texas is in charge
of all arrangements.
Visitation will be held on Friday. June

younger brothers. Johnny didn’t care for
school but he loved the game of foot-
ball; not only watching it on television,
but playing it, as well. He Was good at
it. and he was a proud member of the
1954 Eagle football team al Barbers Hill.
The Dallas Cowboys were his favorite
professional team. Johnny retired as
Quality Control Manager from Arco
Chemical in Channel view. Texas and later
started his own quality control compa-
ny. JW Gunn Inspection Services.
Johnny did not like big crowds and was
a quiet, gentle man. He enjoyed his cat-
tle and everything connected to them. His
favorite thing to do everyday was to drive
the tractor and “check on" his cows.
Johnny made a profession of faith and
was baptized in 1956. He was a mem-
ber of the Shiloh Baptist Church. He and
his wife. Janyce had lived in Leona since
1991. Johnny's greatest joy was his lov-

Moss of Pasadena. Texas. She is also
survived by sister, Faye Homer and hus-
band Doyce, of Boerne, Texas and sis-
ter, Donna Walker and husband Doug,
of Baytown, Texas.
In the early years, Maxine lived in a
variety of places in Oklahoma due to
her father’s job with Mobil Oil
Company. Upon settling in Healdton,
Oklahoma, Maxine graduated from
Dundee High School as class salutato-
rian in 1942. Later that year, she trav-
eled with her family to visit her sister
Edith in Seguin, Texas and wound up
staying on to wotk at Randolph Air Force
Base. She eventually became a super-
visor in Sub Depot Supply.
She soon met Asa Moss, a corporal
on leave from the U.S. Army 124th
Cavalry at the Seguin Assembly of God
church. They were married on August
16, 1943 and stationed at Ft. Ringold
near Rio Grande City, Texas. In June
of 1944, they moved to Baytown. Texas
when Asa joined Humble Oil and
Refining Company as a process tech-
nician. Later, Maxine worked for
H.O.R.C. and remained there until 1950.
Throughout her life, Maxine was active
in both church and community. She
served as an Executive Board member
of the local P.T.A. organization and was
a Den Mother for Cub Scout Pack 93.
She also supported her husband's
efforts in the American Legion and
Disabled American Veterans organi-
zations. She was a long time member
of Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God
church in Baytown, Texas and taught
a variety of Bible classes. She also served
as president of the Women's Missionary
Council and participated in many func-
tions sponsored by the San Jacinto District
ofthe Assemblies of God. After mov-
ing to Central Assembly of God church
in the late ‘60’s, she sang in the church
choir and was a featured soloist. In later
years, she served as a director of Donnie
Moss Ministries, an evangelistic min-
istry with a national focus and attend-
ed the ministry's church. Family
Healing Center in Houston. Texas.
Maxine truly lived by faith and she
was a gift to us all. She always had a
kind word and a gentle spirit. Both fam-
ily and friends will sorely miss her.
A memorial service celebrating her
life will be held on Saturday, June 5,
2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Crespo & Jirrels
Funeral Home at 6123 Garth Rd..
Baytown, Texas. Reverend Donnie Moss
will officiate. Interment will be at
Houston National Cemetery next to Asa.

home to be with the Lord on Wednesday,
June 2.2010 after a courageous battle
with Parkinson and Alzheimer disease.
He was bom on November 13,1937 in
Harrisville. Mississippi. Konrad
w orked as a process engineer and retired
from Monsanto Chemical in 1997. Next
