They continued competition on
Tuesday at Wellman-Union, and
will play again on Friday when
they host Meadow starting at 4
p.m.
The Panthers racked up 22
points in the Final quarter to give
Whitharral a 65-47 win over the
Wildcats.
Mason Sharp led the
Panthers with 27 points, 12
rebounds, three assists and had
one steal.
Jake Baker finished with 16
points, six rebounds, one assist
and had one steal.
Charley Harley scored six
points, two assists and had three
steals. Scott Knstinek finished
with six points, four rebounds
and one assist.
Billy Harley scored five
points, three rebounds and had
one steal. Carlos Lopez scored
Munoz finished with seven
points.
Myers and Lee scored three
points each for the Lobos. Moms
contributed with two points.
The Lobos are now 3-0 in
district play.
Levelland will travel to
Lubbock Cooper Friday for their
next match up. The game will
begin at 8 p.m.

The Ropes Lady Eagles JV
team took a 34-22 win against the
Lady Longhorns Friday at Loop.
Ropes built on their lead for
the first three periods of the game
with quarterly scoring of 9-0, 10-
8 and 9-7 for a Lady Eagles’ lead
of 28-15 going into the final
period.
A 6-7 fourth period in favor
of the Lady Longhorns was not
enough to make up the difference
in scoring, and Ropes took the
win with a final score of 34-22.
Rachel Moreno led in
scoring for the Lady Eagles with
11 points, followed by Morgan
Miller with 10 and Crystal
Escobedo with eight points.
Ropes continued competition
on Saturday with a 48-32 victory
against Estacado's sophomore
team.
The Lady Eagles outscored
Estacado 19-9 in the first half.
Both teams took 15 points in the
third period, but a 14-8 period in
favor of Ropes secured the team's
win with a final score of 48-32.
Kori Willis led in scoring for
the Lady Eagles with 13 points,
followed by Miller and Escobedo
with 12 each, and Moreno with
nine.
These wins give Ropes a
record of 4-10 for the season.

board for the Lobos in the second
quarter was Myatt with a lay up

With both teams scoring on
every possession, the Lobos
began making good passes and
playing tough defense hoping to
capitalize on a Brownfield
mistake.

Turner penetrated the lane and
dumped the ball off to Young for
two points, stretching Levelland's
lead to eight with a score of 35-
27.
Answering back, Brownfield
quickly scored five points with a
three-pointer and a lay up.
Levelland sank the final
points of the half with two
successful free throws by Young.
The Lobos took the lead at
the end of the half, 37-32.
Brownfield quickly cut the
Lobos lead down to three to start
the third with two points under
the basket.
At the six minute mark in the
third quarter, the Lobos traded
the lead with the Cubs after
Brownfield penetrated the lane
for two points, 40-39.
Turner regained the lead for
the Lobos draining a jump shot to
make the score 41-40 with five
minutes left to play in the quarter.
Changing the lead again,
Brownfield went up by one after
a rebound and two points by the
Cubs for a score of 42-41.
Levelland's Blake Myers tied
the game at 42 with a free throw
at 3:49 in the third quarter.

Brandon Rose.

quarter, Brownfield put their first

first quarter was 23-14 in favor of
the Lobos.
Making a stand in the second
quarter. Brownfield put up a fight
outscoring the Lobos, 19-14.

The Panthers will travel to
New Home for their next match
up on Friday. The games will
begin at 4 p.m. starting with the
junior varsity teams.

Taking a slim lead after the
first quarter 14-12, the Panthers
continued to outscore the
Wildcats in the second quarter,

The first half ended with
Panthers on top of the Wildcats.

Wellman began a comeback
in the third quarter scoring three
more points then the Panthers,
19-16 but were unable to control
the Panther offense in the fourth
quarter.

The Lobos marched down
the court with time ticking away,
tossing up a three that was
rebounded by Rose and laid in
the hoop tor two points.
The score was knotted at 51
apiece at the end of the third
quarter.
With the score tied at 51, the
final quarter would be the
deciding factor for the game.
The Lobos played an
aggressive man-to-man defense,
not allowing the Cubs to put up
any easy shots.
Rose, on fire from the
penmeter, hit a three from the
right comer for the lead, 54-51.
The Lobos continued
scoring, going on an 11 point
scoring drive with points by
Turner, Myatt and Young.
The Cubs scored their first
points ih the fourth quarter with
4:10 on the clock, making the
score 62-54.
The Lobos began controlling
the clock on offense causing the
Cubs to foul, which sent
Levelland to the foul line.
Rose and Myers were both
sent to the line shooting two, with
each making both attempts. The
score was 69-54 in favor of the
Lobos.

two points for the Lobos with a
Smokehouse Bar-B-Que. We are proud to be a

REBOUND— South Plains College Texan Joao Victor Ramaiho goes
for a rebound during SPC’s 80-65 win against Midland College
Monday night at Texan Dome. Ramaiho, a freshman from San Jose,
Brzil, had 14 points and eight rebounds in the SPC victory. The
Texans will continue the WJCAC slate when they hit die road to battle
Frank Phillips College at 7:50 p.m. Thursday in Borger. The game
will be broadcast on KLVT 105.3 FM starting at 7:45 pm (Photo
