Levelland seventh grade girls
basketball teams took to the court
on January 17 when they
competed at Lubbock Cooper.
The Loboette A team
increased their undefeated record
to 5-0 with a 27-21 win against
the Lady Pirates. Paige Blair led
in scoring for Levelland with nine
points on four two-pointers and
one free throw. Mykali Harris
and Valerie Chavez followed
with six point from the paint.
Chamarae Polk and Libby
McDonald took two points each
from the floor, and a point each
The Levelland B team took a
24-4 win against the Lady Pirates.
Cooper took all their points in the
first half, while, the Loboettes
took 12 points in each half for
their win.
Veronica Hernandez led in
scoring for Levelland with six
points from the paint, followed
by Jalisa Salazar and Kirstie
Avery with four points from the
floor each.
Three points each by Kirstie
Whipple and Erika Morin on one
two-point basket and one free
throw each, in addition to two
from the line by Heather Lawless
and two from the floor by C.J.
Longoria made up the 24
Loboettes points.
The eighth grade teams will
compete next on Monday when
they travel to Muleshoe to take on
the Lady Mules. Tip-off is
scheduled for 5 p.m. for the B
team and 6:15 p.m. for the A
team.

Antelopes finished in third place
in the JV district Tournament
held Jan. 20-22.
The Lady Antelopes faced
the Smyer on Saturday, falling to
the Lady Bobcats, 28-23.
Bailey Rose led the Lady
Antelopes in scoring with five
points.
Sydni German, Jerrico Perez
and Tiffany Davis each finished
with four points. Chris Chapman
also finished the game with four

Levelland junior high
competes in tournament
The Levelland eighth grade
girls B team competed at the
Levelland eighth and ninth grade
tournament on January 13-15.
The team started out on a
low note with a 45-35 loss to
Irons. Erika Morin led in scoring
for the Loboettes team with 11
points, followed by C.J. Longoria
with eight points and Jalisa
Salazar with five points.
Kirstie Avery took four
points for Levelland in the game,
and Kirstie Whipple, Ashley
Coronado and Veronica
Hernandez took two points each.
One point from the line courtesy
of Heather Lawless wrapped up
the scoring for the game.
The Loboettes continued on
points for the Lady Antelopes.
The Lady Antelopes played
Seagraves in their next game to
decide second and third place in
district.
Falling to Seagraves 50-35,
the Lady Antelopes finished in
third place after the tournament.
Rose led Whiteface with 15
points, followed by Emilee Silhan
with eight points and Ashley
Davidson with six points.
Davis scored four points, and
German and Sarah Cleavinger
finished with one point each.
The Lady Antelopes will
host Seagraves on Friday for their
next match up. The game will
begin at 5 p.m.

take win against Cooper
The Levelland Loboettes’
eighth grade teams took wins Jan.
17 at Lubbock Cooper.
The eighth grade A team
took a 30-18 win against the
Lady Pirates. Cooper started out
the game with a 9-15 lead going
into halftime, but Levelland tied
it up in the third period with
seven points to the Lady Pirates*
one to make the score 16-16. A
14-2 fourth period gave the
Loboettes the win with a final
score of 30-18.
Tiffany Cavazos led in
scoring for Levelland with 14
points from the lane. Ambrosia
Joyce took seven pointe for the
team with seven pointe on one
two-pointer, one three-pointer
and two free throws. Two pointe
from the line courtesy of Candace
Kemp, in addition to two-point
baskets by Danika Whipple and
Randi Durham wrapped up the
scoring for the team.

period to outscore the Eagles 11-
5, and a 21-13 fourth period in
favor of the Bobcats gave the
team the win with a final score of
57-43.
