“Kim Brown is a
professional and its shows; this
an exceptions exhibit of his work
and it has drawn a lot of interest,”
said Lynette Watkins, SPC
assistant professor of art. “Our
photography students are excited
about seeing and meeting this
outstanding artist, and I know the
general public will be impressed
as well.”
Brown has been a black and
white photographer for 34 years.
“My family had shot a lot of
pictures, and I was drawn to the
working of the camera and the
process itself,” he explained.
“When I first saw one of my
photographs coming up as a print
out of a tray of chemicals in the
darkroom, I though, this is for
me. I do this for the pleasure of
it.”
He is a self-employed camera
repair technician and
photographer and teaches
photography classes at Amarillo
Camera and on location.
For more information,
contact the SPC Fine Arts
Department at 894-9611, ext.
