Services set Monday
for Juan Rodriquez
Services for Juan Rodriquez,
83, of Morton, will be held at 11
a.m. Monday, April 4,2005 at the
Eastside Church of Christ with
Joey Pierce of Morton officiating.
Burial will be in Morton
Memorial Cemetery under the
direction of Ellis Funeral Home
of Morton
He died March 31, 2005 in
the Covenant Hospital in
Levelland.
He was bom December 27,
1921 in Edna. He married Cecilia
Sylvas in South Texas on
September 18, 1940.
He moved to Morton in 1951
and was a farmer. He was a
member of the Eastside Church
of Christ in Morton.
He is survived by four sons:
Ping Pong Marathon
scheduled April 16th
A “Ping Pong Marathon" to
benefit the American Cancer
Society’s Relay for Life, will be
held Saturday, April 16, in the
Levelland Civic Center (formerly
the National Guard Armory) at
1900 McKinley.
The tournament will begin at
2 p.m. and last until it is finished.
Doors to the civic center will
open at 11 a m.
The entry fee is $10 per
person per event.

Secretaries’ Day
Luncheon April 27
The Levelland Marigolds and
the Level land Chamber of
Commerce have announced that
they are hosting the Annual
Secretaries Day Luncheon on
Wednesday, April 27.
The luncheon will be held in
the South Plains College
Sundown Room and will run
from 11:45 am. until 1:30 p.m.
Tickets are $ 15 per ticket and
are available from Marigold
members or by calling the
Chamber of Commerce at 894-
3157.
Proceeds from the event will
be used to help decorate the
Courthouse Square for the
Christmas season.

Nick and Alice Bukis of Junction, Texas are pleased to announce

Bukis, to Michael Wilson. Michael is the son of Terry and Tony
Wilson of Sundown.
The prospective bride is a 1997 graduate of Texas A&M
University. She is currently a first grade teacher at Castleberry ISD.
The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Texas Tech
University. He is currently a Civil Engineer at Teague Nall & Perkins
in Ft. Worth.

Jimmy and Iris Martin of Levelland are pleased to announce the
engagement of their daughter, Kyna Dawn Manin, to Ernest William
Brown II. Ernest is the son of Ernest and Yolonda Brown of El Paso,
Texas.
Kyna is the granddaughter of the late Marvin "Doc" and Virginia
Morrison of Levelland, and the late billy Ray Martin and Janell Pierce
of Levelland. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Edd and Billie
Martin of Levelland.
The prospective bride is a 2002 graduate of Levelland High
School, and a 2004 graduate of South Plains College. She is currently
attending the University of North Texas in Denton where she is
majoring in Spanish with a minor in secondary education
The prospective groom is a 1999 graduate of Franklin High
School in El Paso. He graduated from Texas Tech University in
December of 2003 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in high
performance management He is currently attending Texas Women’s
University to achieve a master of MBA/MBH in Denton. He is
currently employed at RHD Memorial Center in Dallas as a contract
administrator.
The couple plans a June 18, 2005 wedding at Texas Tech Merket

Web registration begins
April 4 for the summer and fall
sessions at South Plains College.
Students can register online
CampusConnect at
www.southplainscollege edu.
Students who have been accepted
for admission will receive a
CampusConnect pin number in
their acceptance letter
“All students who wish to
register for classes online are
strongly encouraged to first
contact their advisors," said
Cathy Mitchell, SPC registrar.
“Advisors can help make the
registration process easier and
help them select the right courses
for their studies " A list of
advisors is available in SPC’s
class schedules, also now online.
SPC maintains an open
admissions policy and there is no
charge for the application
process, said Mitchell. To be
accepted to SPC, students need to
complete an application for
admission (available online at the
college's website), and provide
an official transcript of their
academic record in high school
and at each college attended or a
certified copy of the GED
certificate.
Students must also provide
evidence of compliance with the
Texas Success Initiative. Under
