Members of the Cokesbury United Methodist
Church will hold their annual Garage Sale for the
benefit of improvemnts to the physical facilities of
the church. The sale is being held this Thursday,
Friday and Saturday at the church located at 10610
Kingspoint Road. Hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00
p.m. Items available include clothes, furniture, dish-
es and miscellaneous. Profits made will be used for
^improved parking facilities at the church.

Paul Marler celebrated his fifth birthday on
April 14 with hit brother, Jeff, and five neighbor-
hood friends. The children enjoyed a trip to Her--
manp Park and zoo, to Farrell's for clown’ sundaes,
then on home for birthday cake- Paul’s guests in-
cluded Johnny and Jennifer Jordan, Kevin Curry,
Tracy Griffin, Trgcy Revell, and Rose Nicastro.

THE FOLLOWING J. Frank Dobie High School students have beeft
selected to receive PTA scholarships. Penny Mayo is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Benny D. Mayo, 11115 Sagehill. Penny was a cheerlead-
er and Most Friendly as a freshman, sophomore class treasurer and
historian of Tri Hi Y as a sophomore, and a member of concert choir,
chorale and Lariaettes as a junior. Thig year she was Homecoming
Queen and is Lt. Col. of the Lariaette^. John Denson is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. William John Denson, 11522 Sagegrove. He is a member
of the National Honor Society, JETS and vice president of the senior
class. He has lettered in football and basketball and has been football
team captain this year and second team All-District Offense and De-
fense. He received All-District Honorable Mention in basketball in
1975. Alfred V. Flores is the recipient of the Felx Morales Scholar-
ship. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Flores, Jr., 11130 Sage-
river. He has been a member of the National Honor Society, Science
Club, and Junior Classical League. Runners-Up are Terry Swartz,
Melanie Midriff and Cynthia Rodriguez. Pictured with the winners
is Mrs. Kathleen Hensley, third vice president and scholarship chair-
man of the Pasadena Councl of PTA’s.
