No. 1386 1 AN ACT 2 relatingto training and development activities for persons who may 3 interact with an individual with autism or other pervasive 4 developmental disorder. 5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: 6 SECTION 1. Section 114.013, Human Resources Code, is 7 amended by amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsections (c) and 8 (d) to read as follows: 9 (b) As part of coordinating resources under Subsection (a), 10 the commission shall: 11 (1) collect and distribute information and research 12 regarding autism and other pervasive developmental disorders; 13 (2) conduct training and development activities for 14 persons who may interact with an individual with autism or another 15 pervasive developmental disorder in the course of their employment, 16 including school, medical, and [e-r-] law enforcement personnel, and 17 personnel of the Department of Family and Protective Services; 18 (3) coordinate with local entities that provide 19 services to an individual with autism or another pervasive 20 developmental disorder; and 21 (4) provide support for families affected by autism 22 and other pervasive developmental disorders.
23 (c) The commission shall ensure that training and 24 development activities under this section are:
