Jonathan R. Bowman has
joined the United States Air Force
under the Delayed Entry Program.
The program gives young men and
women the opportunity to enlist and
delay going to basic military train-
ing for up to one year.
Qualified men and women are
eligible to receive skill training,
experience, and up to $20,000 in
education benefits.
After completing basic military
training, airmen receive specialized
technical training in one of more
than 125 job career fields.
Bowman is the son of John D.

He is a 2001 graduate of

“Sonny” Lambert, 79, of Levelland
were held at 11 a.m. Friday at the
Whitharral Baptist Church. Rev.
Marty Fipps, pastor of the
Levelland Baptist Temple, offici-
ated and Rev. Larry Williams of
Littlefield assisted. Burial followed
in the Whitharral Cemetery under
direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral
Directors.
He died at 11:26 a.m. Tuesday,
Feb. 4, 2003 at his residence. He
was under care of Vista Care Hos-
pice.
He was bom Jan. 30, 1924 in
Decatur. He moved to Levelland in
1933 from Decatur. He married
Bernice Vinyard on Feb. 16, 1946
in Levelland. He was a retired
truck driver and had been employed
by Paul Musslewhite Trucking.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of
World War II and a member of the
Levelland Baptist Temple.
He was preceded in death by
his wife, Bernice Lambert of
Levelland; a son, Gary Lambert of
Whitharral; a daughter, Charlene
Hobaugh of Sulphur Springs; four
sisters, Ruby Smith of Denton,
Lorene Dickinson of Asoton,
Wash., Billie Underwood of Sang-
er, and Betty Caraway of Midland;
seven grandchildren; and four
great-grandchildren.

the birth of their daughter, Vanessa
Renee Romero.
She was bom Jan. 29, 2003 at
4:35 p.m. in Covenant Hospital
Levelland.
She weighed seven pounds, 11
ounces and was 19 inches long.
She was welcomed home by

Maria Romero (6).

Saxon, 67, of Borger were held
Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Calvary Bap-
tist Church in Borger. Revs. D. Jay
Lewis and Leonard Forsythe offici-
ated. Burial followed in the
Westlawn Cemetery under direction
of Brown Funeral Directors.
He died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003
in Golden Plains Community Hos-
pital.
An independent oil producer,
he was a native of Levelland and a
resident of Borger for 50 years. He
was a member of Calvary Baptist
Amelia Almager Cervantez of Min-
eral Wells, Rafalita Patrica
Almager, and Amy Anita Almager,
both of Levelland; nine brothers,
Jacinto Almager, Longino Almager,
Cipriano Almager, Jessie Almager,

Almager of Lubbock, and Vivian
Almager of Richardson; three sis-

He was preceded in death by
his father in November 2002; a
daughter, Angie Lindley; and a

1996.

She moved to Levelland in
1990 from Seymour, Ind. While in
Indiana, she learned to be a flea
market dealer. She married Paul
Feathemgill on Sept. 7, 1936 in
Lovington, N.M. He died Feb. 9,
1969. She later married Arnold
Jack Ashford in 1970. He died
before she returned to Texas.
She is survived by her daugh-
ter, Billye Jeanne Cutshall of
Levelland; two sons, Edward Allen
Feathemgill of Inverness, Fla. and
Harold Ray Feathergill of
Mercedes; a sister, Anna Campbell
of San Antonio; 10 grandchildren;
14 great-grandchildren; and a great-
great-granddaughter.

held Monday, Feb. 3, in the Olton
Cemetery. Truman Quiett, branch
president of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-day Saints in

at 6 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at
Levelland Nursing Home.
She was bom Nov. 10, 1911 in
Walton, W. Va. She attended
schools in Oklahoma and graduated
from High School in Wink. She
moved to Odessa and then
Springlake where they farmed until
1948. They moved to Olton and
then to Lubbock before moving to
