Salt Bacon

By BETTY BARCLAY
Ever hear of a two-faced cereal?
Here’s one! At least, so it would
seem, because sometimes it appears
in the morning at the family table
as a good, and familiar hot cereal.
Next thing you know, it shows up
at supper another day as something
quite different and almost twice as
good — if that could be possible.
It is easy to prepare, too — it can
be made ahead of time, and sliced
and browned just before serving.
Best of all, it gives a vegetable
plate that stick-to-the-ribs quality a
man likes in a meal.
Wheat-Meal Supper Dish
teaspoon salt
cups boiling water
cup wheat-meal
cup grated American Cheese
Add salt to boiling water in
saucepan. Add cereal slowly, stir-
ring constantly,
boil and cook 3
constantly. Add
well. Pour into
Chill until firm,
slices. Dip slices in flour
saute in small amount of fat, turn-
ing to brown both sides. Serve
with buttered or creamed vegeta-
bles. Makes 6 servings.

time I Will be glad that you come
to Bonham and check the recofrds
and you will find where I have
made you a good Sheriff. Leonard
has never called me day or night
when they needed a Sheriff, re-
gardless of the weather, when me j
or my deputies were not with you
-or at the call in thirty minutes.
If you will recall, you will remem-
ber that you had" gambling halls
and saloons running wide open in
your town before I took office.
You’ll have to admit that neither
one of these conditions have pre-
vailed since I’ve been your Sheriff.
On the south side of your square
where your gambling hall ran wide 1
open, you will find in that same
building that a preacher is now (
