ABOVE, A painted sign sits on display in the Christmas area of the Watermill
Marketplace in downtown Salado. UPPER RIGHT, A hallway at Rosanky’s
on Main Street. Rosanky’s is on the opposite end of the street from Salado
Antiques and Watermill Marketplace. TOP RIGHT, An antique silver tea set
sits ready for afternoon tea on an antique buffet at Salado Antiques on Main
Street. Salado Antiques carries only antiques, unlike a few other stores in the
area that carry both vintage and new items. LEFT, A water feature flows on dis-
play at the Watermill Marketplace in Salado. Watermill is a mixture of antiques
and new items, giving shoppers a wide variety of home decor and gifts to
choose from throughout the store. Watermill Marketplace is located only a few
blocks down from Salado Antiques near Main Street. TOP LEFT, A collection of
Franklin Library leather-bound books sit on display in an antique bookcase at

The Watermill Marketplace is housed inside the Old Town Salado building,
which is connected to many other shops and boutiques on Main Street. This
building complex is one of the first things visitors will see when driving onto

Salado has always been known for
its charm and cozy, small-town
feeling.
Salado has a lot of annual tradi-
tions celebrated by its residents
and many other people from
around Texas who travel to Salado
just for the festivities going on
throughout the year.
But Christmas in Salado is espe-
cially significant - the whole town
shines a little brighter with all the
Christmas lights up» and down
Main Street during the annual
Christmas Stroll — something
worth checking out.
The Christmas Stroll is an event
the town holds each year, inviting
visitors to walk along Main Street
and check out the many unique
shops, boutiques and cafes along
the way. Hot chocolate, hot chai
teas, music, snacks and more line
the street along with the lights
while vendors open their doors
during the later hours and give
