grade, comprising 30 per cent
of the total samples graded.
Twenty per cent was gride 42, Jones
16 per cent was grade 31, and
13 per cent graded 41.
Cotton grading within
white, light-spotted, and spot-
ted grade categories com-
prised 33, 62, and four per
cent, conaecutively. Thirteen
per cent was reduced in grade
because of bark or grass
content.
Staple lengths were 35 per
cent staple 30, 56 per cent
staple 31, six per cent staple
32. and two per cent Staple 33.
Micronaire readings were
88 per cent within the 3.5 to 4.9
range, five percent within the
3.3 to 3.4 range, five per cent
3.0 or lower, and two per cent
5.0 or higher.
Cotton prices reported to
the USDA Agricultural Mar-
keting Service showed de
clines of about four cents per
pound during the past week.
