Hall, a native of a small
Collins County town called
Melisa, moved to Stamford
from Ponder in 1933. The
family then moved to Denton
for three years and moved
back to Stamford in 1941
Hall graduated from Stam-
ford High School in 1945. After
20 months in the armed
forces, he became assistant
manager of Perry Brothers
here in 1947.
In 1948, Hall moved with the
company to Mineral Wells as
assistant manager. While
there, he worked as relief
manager in the Bowie stfre.
Then he went to Coleman for
six months.
Hall became manager of the
store in Memphis Feb. 1, 1949
and has lived in the Hall“
County town ever since except
for .one four-month tenure in
Snvder in I960
He married BjUie Jo Jones
in Memphis in 1949. HaU tells
a story often repeated at .
Memphis homecomings of a
“Hall boy from Jones County
marrying a Jones girl from
Hall County.”
Members of the Church of
Christ, the Halls have three
sons — Jerry and Tommy,
both of Dallas, and Bobby, a
senior at Memphis High
School.
Hail has been a member of
the Lions Club since 1949 and
has held numerous offices in
the club.

aunt, Mrs. A. J. Henson, and
three cousins, Mrs. J. C.
Riddle, Ophelia Reed \ and
