Better Sanitation Needed In
Rural Schools
You yourself, your community,
your town, your state, are on
trial.
You are not subscribing to the
Liberty Loan as you should.
What are you going to do about
it? Perhaps yours is a farming
community where the wealth is
in the ground but ready money
is scarce. TJie government
knows your troubles and is do
ing everything possible to help
you, and to see that you get good
prices for your crops. Means
must be found to raise money
for the Liberty Loan. We say
this for two reasons, the first is,
because you are patriots, and
the second, is that if you do not
subscribe to the loan the tax col
lector will force you to raise the
money.
You say “we need the money
in our business.” Nobody ques-
tions that. The point is, that
you have to find the money any-
way, and you had better find it
now and lend it to the govern
ment than have to give it up later
and never see one cent of it back.
The Governmet is fighting to
keep the Germans from this
Country, to keep the seas open
so that your products can be sent
across the seas and bring you
good prices.
We are in the War, and in to
stay. Let us see it through.
Farmers of the Southwest, the
Country calls to you. It wants
you to help, not the other fellow,
but you. Will you respond and
buy a Liberty Bond.

This is a very painful and danger-

borhood someone has died from it be-
: fore medicine could be obtained or a
* physician summoned. The right way
j is to have a bottle of Chamberlain’s
j Colic and Diarrhoea Remedy in the
house so as to be prepared for it.
Mrs. Charles Enyeart, Huntington,

1911 two of my children were taken
sick with cholera morbus. I used
Chamberlain’s Colic and Diarrhoea
Remedy and it gave them immediate
relief.” For sale by Our Drug Store.

In tne interests of efficiency
and health there is increasing
necessity for the application of
scientific medical and sanitary
knowledge to the adminstration of
the public schools, in the opinion
of the Public Health Service.
In general, the faults observed
in rural schools. The annuel
report of the service declares,
are due to a lack of skilled advice,
specially in regard to the loca
tion, construction and equip
ment of school buildings end
disregard of sanitary pt’incipils
governing waler supplies, the
disposal of sewage, ventilation,
temperature, illumination, and
the arrangement of school desks
and black boards. During the
past fiscal year surveys have been
made in rural districts of several
states and many thousand school
children have been examined.
These examinations have includ-
ed through testing of the eyes
by competent oculists, tests of
mental capacity, and the effect
of sanitary environment on school
progress, as well as inspections
for the customary physical de-
fects.
The conclusion is reached that
there is great need for im-
provement in rural schools and
that communities themselves
will benefit if conditions are
bettered, the schools serving as
object lessons for .surrounding
sections. Conditions in country
districts have been found below
those in cities and it is apparent
that organized health work has

This is a mild form of indigestion.
It is usually brought on by eating
too rapidly or too much, or of food
not suited to your digestive organs.
If you will eat slowly, masticate your
food thoroughly, eat but little meat
and none at all for supper, you will
more than likely avoid the sour stom-
ach without taking any medicine what-
ever. When you have sour stomach
take one of Chamberlain’s Tablets*to
aid digestion. For sale by Our Drug
