A mass meeting has been called
for Monday evening at 7:15 in the
auditorium of the city hall, to dis-
i cuss the advisability of a community
chest for Lampasas county. All of
.the citizenship is invited to attend this
meeting and take part in the discus-
sion, ,
Several met recently and talked
over plans, but it was decided that a
larger number of the citizens should
discuss the proposition before any
plans were made.
There are several casese in Lampa-
sas county that really need help and
none of the charity Organizations
can extend to them the help needed.
Come out Monday evening and hear
the community chest discussed.

Christmas to the average young-
ster would be a very tame
affair without fireworks. We can
all remember back a few years and
realize what fireworks means to the
younger people. We can also rea-
lize what danger there is attached to
them and possibly the danger never
occurs to the younger people as to us.
The city has laws prohibiting the
shooting of fireworks in the fire zone
of thia city,. This is principally for
protection of property from fire which
might be caused from fireworks and
should be observed. It is not the
purpose of the city officials to take
all the joy out of Christmas time,
but to protect property damage from i
the careless shooting of fireworks. I
The older people should caution the
youngster^ against shooting fire- I
works in the fire zone and also warn
them of the seriousness that might
result from burns from the fireworks.2-IN-l GIFT
