The guests were also delighted to
see an interesting display of pictures
of Mrs. Reeder's early childhood.
Mrs. Reeder was bom December
18.1899 in the Industry community.
She still resides in Industry and is an
active member of St. John's Luther-
an Church of New Ulm, the ALCW of
St. John's and the Shelby American
Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Reeder enjoys visiting with
friends and playing dominoes with
the senior citizen's group.

St. John's ALCW of New Ulm had
its Christinas Supper for the mem-
bers and their families on Wed-
nesday, December 12.
Following the meal, all those
present enjoyed singing Christmas
carols. “Silent Night" was sung for
the birthday celebrants, namely
Hertha Krueger, Joyce Marek, Lillie
Reeder, Josie Rinn and Annie Lee
Peschel.
A short meeting was conducted by
Joyce Wiebusch.
Barbara Allcom gave a history on
the customs and beginnings of the
first Christmas tree
St. John's ALCW was invited to a
Christmas dinner and a joint Bible
study at Trinity Lutheran Church in
Frelsburg.
Pastor Kostedt led the Bible Study
entitled “The Global Family”.
Hostesses for the Christmas Supper
were Brenda Tonn, Laverne Weige
and Marilyn Wendt.
The next meeting for the ALCW is
scheduled for Thursday, January 10,
1985 at St. John's Lutheran Church
in New Ulm.

Mrs. Lillie Reeder was honored by
her daughters and their families on
her 85th Birthday at the Industry
Fire Station. The Open House was
held Sunday, December 16, from
2:00 to 4:30 p.m.
As guests entered, they were
greeted at the registration table
which was decorated with red
poinsettias and Christmas bells and
held her picture. The honoree wore a
red rose corsage for her special day.
The food table was covered with
red and white tablecloths and deco-
rated with a large candle center-
piece. Sandwiches, cookies, hot waf-
fles, cake, punch and coffee was
served to family, friends and rela-
tives who came from several sur-
rounding counties. A birthday cake
with "Happy 85th Birthday" inscri-
bed on it was served to over 150
guests.

sen, was honored with a Miscel-
laneousShowerSunday.December 2,
1984, at the High Cotton Inn in
Bellville.
Refreshments consisting of cake,
wine punch, cheese, crackers and
cookies were served to those pre-
sent.
Hostesses for the occasion were
Dee Ann Rinn, Connie Giese, Cindy
Marek, Suzanne Bockhom, Susan
Flentge. Patti Thuesen, Janet Kr-
ebs, Sonda Ripple, Gina Mikeska,
Rose Mary Bolten, and Rose John-
son. Their gift to the couple was the
tea and coffee server to the couple’s
selected china set.
Gallaway's Ranch on FM 529 was
the setting for a kitchen shower
hosted by Marie Gallaway on Satur-
day, December 8. The gift from the
hostess was a flower arrangement
along with numerous kitchen uten-
sils.
Maggie was also honored with a
linen shower at St. Paul’s Lutheran
Church in Shelby on Sunday, De-
cember 9.
Refreshments were served
consisted of a vegetable tray, sau-
sage and cheese balls, cake and
punch.
A bath set was the gift from the
hostesses who were Carolyn, Joan
and Wanda Bruening and Ann
Aschenbeck.
The couple will be married January
5,1985 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church
of Shelby.
