White Hall home demonstra-
tion club members in Kaufman
County buy stamps every week
•with their “egg money.” Recent-
ly the club began sponsoring
community sing-songs at their
school. {Members are collecting
scrap metal, paper, and rubber
and are planning to enroll in a
first aid class.
The rubber in a tennis ball
is equal to that in one roll of
adhesive plaster used by the
Army.

menek of Needville arrived Fri-
day to spend a few days in tihe
Louis O. Mueneler home. They
were accompanied by Miss Elsie
and Marjorie Muenzler who hat

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Henneke
accompanied by Mr. and Mrs.
Conrad Henneke visited in the
Anton Henneke home near El-
linger Sunday.
Cheven Chili made by home
demonstration club women of
Menard County has been sold
in markets all over the United
States. Since a freezer locker
plant opened in Menard, Jan.
1, 1942, 80,000 pounds of meat
has been stored in its 164 lock-
ers.
A club exchange or bulletin
board where members can post
notices of things they have to
sell or trade is a regular feat-
ure at meetings of the Oklaho-
ma Lane Home Demonstration
Club in Parmer County.
Home demonstration chib wo-
men and 4-H club girls in El
Paso County last year canned
more than 30,000 quarts of
fruit. Fresh fruit is also readily
available. The women get ban-
anas the year around from ven-
dor wagons for five to 15 cer.ts
a dozen, and buy pineapple from
Old Mexico.
An average hot water bottle
contains as much rubber as goes
into two pairs of soldier’s over-
shoes.
