ceed 15c for permans nt im-
provements, making a total of
80c, the limitation the Consti-
tution now carries.

Citizens Should Vote For Amendment Giving
Counties Right To Change Allocation Of Tax Rate

If this amendment is adopt-
ed, no county in Texas is re-
quired to change its present
system and no county in Texas
can change its present system
unless the Commissioners’ Court
is first authorized to do so by
a majority of the qualified pro-
perty tax paying voters of the
county. The object of the a-
mendment is not to increase
the tax rates but to enable each
county to allocates its county
tax levies to meet its particular
needs.
This amendment not only has
the support of Governor Steven-
son, but also had the unanim-
ous support of every member
of the 48th Legislature. This
being probably the only time in
the history of the State Legis-
lature that a constiutional a-

Taken To Hospital
Theodore Motl and smill

hospital Saturday morning.
Their condition was quite ser-

they are much improved at this
