Fifty-four 4-H Club offi-
cers attended Officer Train-
ing Camp at Stephen F.
Austin State Park, August
9th. The day began with a
hot dog lunch, furnished by
the Austin County Adult
Leaders’ Association. 4-H-
ers then took part in a
parliamentary procedure
training to assist them in
conducting their club meet-
ings. Responsibilities of
their offices were then ex-
plained to them as they
were grouped in relation to
their offices.
After the trainig, it was
off to the swimming pool for
fun and relaxation.
On August 14, the Indus-
try Catholic Church Com-
munity Center was the site
of the 4th Annual Franke -
Frier Family Reunion. The
day turned out warm and
humid but the attendance
was excellent. The family
members traveling the far-
thest were L. W. Hatcher
and family and D. L. Fran-
ke and family from Saudia
Arabia. The closest mem-
ber was Norma Franke who
resides in Industry. The
oldest member was Lena
W inborn from Madisonville
and the youngest L. W.
Hatcher's grandson from
Saudia Arabia. The longest
married were Erwin and
Velma France from Bren-
ham and the shortest mar-
ried were Wilbert and Deb-
bie Frank from New Ulm.
The president, Wilbert
Frank, Jr., welcomed all
members and their visitors.
Mrs. Opal Franke gave the
blessing and everyone en-
joyed a delicious lunch.
After a wonderful meal,
Wilbert opened the meeting
under 409 selling particularly good. Most weight
heifer calves 81 to 83/hundred higher. Rains of 2
to 5 inch* in Columbus areas lightened run but
was certainly welcomed by ranches. If we can be
of any assistance in marketing your livestock,
please call409-733-2622. If you need help hauling
your livestock, please call collect 409-732-2622 or
409-732-5841. Have a nice day. Purebred Hereford
Bulls for sale. TOP DOLLAR FOR YOUR
