records of production on individual

U.S. farmers and ranchers who
raise high quality beef for U.S.

"Ted” L. Harter were held on
Monday, December 9, 1991, with
Rev. Perry Bishop, Pastor of St.
Mark’s United Methodist Church,
officiating.
Burial was in Cedar Lawn
Cemetery in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
Mr. Harter was born and raised
in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He moved
to the New Ulm area about four
years ago and made his home with
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pounds,
where he passed away on
December 5. He was 85 years of
age.
Survivors include two step-sons
and daughters-in- law, LeRoy and
Margaret Stubblefield of Council
Bluffs, Iowa, Donald and Allene
Ppounds of New Ulm; daughter-in-
law, Cathy Doval of Omaha,
Nebraska; sister. Fern Arringdale
of San Bernardino, California;
seven grandchildren and nine
great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
wife, Lilly Harter on December 7,
1985 and one step-son, Sterling
Stubblefield on July 5,1965.

Ronda Tonn, a senior at Texas
Lutheran College in Seguin, has
been awarded a scholarship from
Aid Association for Lutherans
(AAL). Tonn is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Floyd Tonn of New Ulm.
AAL is a not- for- profit
organization which provides a wide
variety of
insurance
opportunities,
their families.
Tonn is participating in AAL’s
Lutheran Campus Scholarship
Program. Scholarships usually
range from $200 to $1,000 and are
available to AAL members
attending Lutheran institutions of
higher learning. Recipients are
selected by financial aid offices at
participating schools.
The Lutheran
Scholarship Program
several student
programs sponsored by AAL. AAL
maintains one of the country’s
largest Systems of privately-funded
scholarships and grants as part of
its fraternal commitment to enable
I^itherans to help themselves and
others.

Historical Commission sign. After

On January 2, 1992, at approximately 7:20 p.m., in the
Oilfield Road • Raccoon Bend area, a resident returned
home, not knowing that someone was inside the residence.
The owner entered the residence through the back door.
The suspect(s) then jumped the resident, knocking him to
the floor. At this time the suspect(s) pulled what appeared
to be an unknown type of handgun and proceeded to place
the gun to the resident's head, demanding his wallet. After
receiving the resident's wallet the suspect(s) then fled the
scene on foot.
Anyone having information about this crime should con-
