ment was made in the city cemetery.
A special train from Dallas brought
of liars and members of the negro
Odd Fellows’ lodge to attend the
funeral, the deceased having been a
high officer in the lodge it) Telas.
Besides special train, between 'fif-
ty and sixty negro Odd Fellows and
friends came up on a later train
from Fort Worth during the morn-
ing.

resented at the funeral, the deceased

day morning and evening, for rep-

The Denton High school was rep-
resented in debate bv Harold Young
and Earl Dyer, and i«» declamation
by Wynne .Wooley, Denton High de-
bated Fort Worth first on the pro-
gram. Denton having the negative
side of the question. "Resolved, that
suffrage should be extended to wo-
men of Texas on equal terms with
men.” The decision of the judges
favored Fort Worth, whose repre
sentatives entered the finals Satut-
day night against the Lancaster
team of Dallas county, who had elim-
inated the other schools during

The revival meeting at the First
Methodist church continue* with
deepened interest. Services are be-
ing conducted dally at 10 a. m. and
7:3o p. m , with group prayer ser-
vices each afternoon at 8 o’clock.
The afternoon meetings were held
today a* follows: No. 1, with Mra. L.
Smith, Locust and Sycamore; No. 2,
with Mr* J. K. Holland, on M*ple;
No. 3, with Mr*. J. G. Tomlinson,
N. Bolivar.
Rev. C. C. Young of McKinney
came in Saturday afternoon, and ha*
been in charge of services. He spoke
at six different meeting* Sunday
At the service* there were four prog-
ressions, with many request* for

membership in the church. The con-
gregations at both morning and ev-
ening services taxed the seating ca-
ps* ity of the church. The singing
was hearty and general.
