A Suggestion
Please do not lake down
your receiver and ask, “Where
is the fire” when the whistle
blows, as it is impossible for
us to serve 300 or 400 people at
the same instant and it inter-
feres with th® operators wait-
ing on the fire department,
which is very essential.

THE BATTLE FOR FREEDOM
An Interesting story of the Boer
war. A beautiful story in which a
brother and sister are reunited af-
ter a separation of twenty years.
Told ih the inimitable Kalem way
, in two reels. The summer terms of the Normal
and C. I. A. state colleges will open
Tuesday morning, and already the 1
advance guards of students are ar-
riving in Den on and descending on 5
the dormitories and boarding
houses- Both colleges (expect big
attendant es this summer, and with
he general prosperity of the past
year it is probable that the expec-
tations will be realized.
An t icrease in the attendan e at
the Normal would mean nearly a
thousand students here at tha col-
lege. as last summer's total a tend-
ance was somewhat over 900.
At the €. I. A. the second term
of summer Normal begins wi h the
regular summer school work, and a
much increased atendance is expect-
ed to result from the inauguration
of this work, which, though includ-
ed in las summer's term, had
hardly had time to become identi-
fied with the regular C I. A. work.
The Normal term will last eight
weeks, a minimum of twenty-one
days' a'tendance being required for
the issuance of certificates, and the
,C./I. A. term dismisses the- middle
of July, after a six weeks session.
Chapel will be held at both schools
Tueday during the morning and
announcements made.
