Side,
So far as can be ascertained here no
decision has beep ceached in regard to
the location of'the Denton postQfflce
building. Inspector Holloway was here
nearly six months ago. He stated when
he Ipft that the decision would be
probabjy'a matter of a couple of weeks
at the outside. But nearly six months
hate elapsed without a word reaching
here dtmtrt a decision or even as to a
probable date for arriving at a decision.
Neither is there any information ob-
tainable what, if anything, is hold-
ing up the announcement. Other towns
in Texas, visited at about the same
firne, have received announcement of
their locations, but nothing for Den-
ton.
It has been reported at different, times
tliat strong efforts were being made in
behalf of Certain locations, that', in-
fluence was being broug}it to bear (ir
the interest- of those locations. ' But
close inquiry hap failed ever to show
any uonclusiveness to these rumors.
The last telegram the Record and
Chronicle had from Congressman Ste-
phens was that’the matter was prob-
ably being delayed by many similar
matters and that it would be-reached
in due covrs£ of time, when lie fcould
promptly telegraph the Record
tChronicle-pf the decision.
