There was a special service for the
colored people in which Miss Den-
nett brought home to them their
duty of evangelizing their people rrt

up those who would carry the gospel
to Africa whose needs, she said, are
o very great. One of the uieif
spoke of the home missionary work
already begun in his home church.
They expressed their appreciation of
tlie svmpalhy and-the spirit of help-
fulness of the white people.
The afternoon session closed with

DENISON, June 15?—The Deni-
son Hefald yesterday afternoon pub-
lished the following:
"The Paris Presbytery, which has
been in special session In Denison
-since Tuesday afternoon, adjourned
this morning at 11 o’clock at the
First Presbyterian church,, corner
Gandy street and Burnett avenue.
"The placing of the call of the
congregation of the First Presbyter-
ian church of Denison In the hands of
Rev. A. F. Heitman was the one mat-
ter before the meeting and shortly
before adjournment this morning the
committee of four, which had been
appointed to bring’ in a report, ten-
dered tbc-lr finding which refuses to
recommend that the call be given Mr.
Heitman. This is the second session
Of the Presbytery in Denison during
the last few weeks.
---"Rev, h(.r F, Granan nf Leonard
was moderator of the meeting and J.
F. Fender of Whitewright was ylerfe’.
Following is the report of thgcSiu-
rnlttee: —
”ln the matter of the call of the

Presbytery finds as follows:

Heitman is in no wise involved in
proceeding.
'"2. The governing question
this matter under the law of
church, is whether the proposed
total relation will tend to promote
or restpre harmony in this congrega-
tion.
“3. The presbyefy has carefully
considered the numerous papers fil-
ed bv-’both parties and has partially
heard parties on both.sides of this
controversy, and also statements of.
“Mr. Heitman; and without consider-'
ing or passing upon any rumors or
side issues and without impeaching
by any. expression tbe moral char-
acter or ministerial standing of Mt
Heitman* the presbytery' finds that
such a lack of harmony exists in
connection with the.proposed i-as'o-

hope that this condition would im-
prove under bis proposed pastorate,

ties. In some towns movements of
this kind are already under headway,
she said, add had been found very
uplifting to the negroes. Some of
her suggestions were th?t they be
