The number of poll tax receipts
issued up to Friday night wag 2,-
753. In addition to this there were
a number of-orders in the office
on which rtieipts bad not been is-
sued and thy various banks over
the county have not yet reported
their, roll tax orders. Deputy Tax
Collector Cieaveland estimated that
the number of orders not reported,
added to the re eipts issued, would
bring the total jto about 3,500.
There are six more days before
Feb 1. The rate of tax paying for
the next week is expected to be
heavy, and the total will probably
exceed 4,000 considerably.
