In announcing my candidacy
for the office of Superfhtendent
of Public Instruction in ?«1onta
gue County, I wish to say that I
was born and reared at New
Harp in this county, and that I
spent twenty four years of my
life in this county before I moved
toothers parts of the state ti.
teach I have been back in the
county, now, for four years, dur
ing which tiui‘ I have been
Superintendent of the Saint Jo
Public Schools.
I was educated in the Sam
Houston Normal and the State |
University—am a graduate of i
the former and have four credits
toward a degree from the latter.
I have also done work in the
Interstate School of Correspond-
ence, Chicago, but I did not
graduate from that institution.
I have taught twelve years in
this state, five of which have been
in Montague County; and while
the principal part of my work
has been done in the High School
and in Normal Schools, I have
had several years experience in
the Rural Schools and in the
Grades. I believe I know the
educational needs of our people,
in general, and of the Rural
Schools and High Schools in par-
ticular, since I have given my en-
tire life to the study of their
problems.
I trust that those who do not
know me will learn of me through
the teachers of the county and
the people where I have lived and
taught.
I expect to give my life to the
work of education, and should
you elect me to the Office of
County Superintendent, I assure
