Lindsays Enjoy
Pheasant Hunt
Mr. and Mrs. John Lindsay
returned Friday from a ten-
day pheasant hunt in Chamb-
erlain, South Dakota. This is
their fifth such pheasant hunt.
They were joined by three other
couples. Mrs. Lindsay and the
other women did their part
of hunting and report they had
good luck and enjoyed the outing.
They hope to go back next year.

Baptist Juniors
To Go Skating
Members of the Junior Train-
ing Union Department of First
Baptist Church will have a skat-
ing party Saturday night at Saint
Jo Skating Rink, according to
Mrs. Frank Redd, sponsor.
The group will meet at the
church at 6 p. m. and will be
transported to Saint Jo in the
Saint Jo Hospital mirco-bus.
Fifteen members, and their
guests are expected to attend,
Mrs. Redd states.

Thumb School enjoyed a Hallo-
ween party Tuesday at F & M
Community Room with 32 in
attendance. The number in-
cluded parents of the tots.

Timothy and Karen, Mrs. Bud
Golden, Marty and Barry, Mr.
and Mrs. Dalton Shaw, Reana

Handicraft Exhibit
Slated For Nov. 9
This ’N’ That Club will spon-
sor a handicraft exhibit Mon-
day. Nov. 9 at Farmers and
Merchants Bank Community
Room. The hours will be 10
a. m. until 5 p. m.
The public is invited to visit
the exhibit and see what the la-
dies have made from this and
that, according to a report from
Alice Buck.

Humphreys Attend
Symphony
Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Hum-
phreys attended a concert by
the Richardson Symphony Or-
chestra at Richardson Wednes-
day evening.
Their son-in-law, Dr. J. R.
Floyd of De Kalb, Illinois, so-
loed with the orchestra in Saint-
Saens’ piano Concerto No. 2
in G Minor.
The Humphreys visited in the
home of Glen and Mary William-
son. Glen is in the violin sec-
tion of the Richardson orches-
tra.

Bailey Orrells Visit
In Panhandle
Mr. and Mrs. Bailey Orrell
went to Perryton Friday and
visited their daughter and fam-
ily, Mr. and Mrs. Howard
Boyles and daughters Debbie,
Diane and Denise. They also
visited their son and family,
Mr. and Mrs. David Orrell
in Amarillo, and went on to
Beaver, Oklahoma and visited
Mr. Orrell’s sister and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Claud Mitchell.
To McKinney
Rev. and Mrs. Fitzhugh Tal-
bot were in McKinney Thurs-
day and visited his sister, Miss
Geneva Talbot and Friday they
were guests of Mrs. Talbot’s
mother Mrs. G. L. McGraw.
Friday and Friday night they
attended the homecoming at the
McKinney high school and at-
tended the football game. Rev.
Talbot is an ex-letterman of
that school.

Mayor and Mrs. Claude
Brown of Lockney visited with
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Hays Tues-
day evening. They were enroute
home from Dallas where they
attended Spring and Summer
market for their business,

Are Entertained
Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Pain-
ter entertained Mrs. Painter’s
mother, brother and two sis-
ters-in-law with a birthday din-
ner, Sunday, October 29th, with
all of her brothers, sisters and
the three Painter children and
their families in attendance.
This was the first time the
group had been together since
1943 when the children of Mr.
and Mrs. L. F. Malone, Sr.,
met for the departure of L.
F. Malone, Jr. for England,
then, a 1st Lt. in the Air Force
in World War H.
Present for the momentous
occasion Sunday were Mrs. L.
F. Malone, Sr. from Garland,
Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Malone, Jr.,
and children, Mark, Laura and
Myron, from Richardson, Mr.
and Mrs. L. B. Malone and Mike
from McKinney, Mr. and Mrs.
Guy Malone from Wichita Falls
and Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Hath-
away from Garland.
Children of the Painter fam-
ily present were Mrs. Jerry
H. Painter and children, Sher-
ry and Cathy from Clovis, New
Mexico, and James Hubert came
Wednesday. Jerry, being in Al-
buquerque for a teachers meet-
ing, came Sunday morning by
plane to Wichita Falls, arriving
in Nocona at noon to return to
Clovis with his family on Mon-
day, also Mr. and Mrs. Bob
Kafer and children, Jerry Paul,
Jena Lesa, Jane and Joe Bob,
Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Johnson
and children Leslie Jan and
Craig of Nocona.
Mrs. L. F. Malone, a for-
mer Nocona resident, plans to
spend ten days in Nocona vis-
iting her daughter and friends.
Inman Retires As
Gas Co. Manager
Johnie W. Inman, Lone Star
Gas Co. district manager, of
Bowie, retired Tuesday after-
noon after 41 years with the
company. A brief ceremony was
held in the gas firm offices at
Bowie.
Succeeding him as district
manager was C. H. Howard
Jr., who has been local man-
ager at Hurst for the past
six years.
Inman has been district man-
ager at Bowie since 1950. He
has been active in civic and
church affairs there.

Nocona Couples
Home From Nassau
Dr. and Mrs. K. J. Wharram
and Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Cur-
lin returned home Sunday after
spending the weekend in Nassau,
Bahama Islands. The group
traveled by jet with World
Samplers Travel Club out of
Dallas. They enjoyed sight-
seeing and other entertainment
offered on the trip.
Visiting here last week with
Miss Alma Jackson, amission-
ary from Brazil the past 35
years, were her brother, Mr.
and Mrs. Homer Jackson, Dal-
las, and their daughter, Mrs.
Jack Kirby, Houston. They were
all guests in the home of Mr.
and Mrs. John Duggan, a sis-
ter of Miss Jackson and Homer.

Crape Myrtle Garden Club Slates
Xmas Tasting Tea, Flower Show
A Christmas Tasting Tea and
Flower Show is scheduled by
Crape Myrtle Garden Club to
be held December 14 in the
homes of four of the members.
Tentative plans were laid
Thursday at a regular meeting
of the club in F. & M. Com-
munity Room. Rules for the
Flower Show are listed below.
Frank Bumpus, County Agent,
presented a program on Soil
Analizing with each member
bringing a soil sample. He also
showed slides showing plant
diseases and gave recommen-
dations for treatment.
During the business meeting
the date of next meeting was
changed from Thursday, Nov.
9 to Wednesday, Nov. 8. Hos-
tesses will be Mrs. Stilley and
Mrs. Tom Foster.
Mrs. Bill Yeargin and Mrs.
Roy Weiss, hostesses, served
refreshments. The table cen-
terpiece, carrying out the Hal-
loween motif, was an arrange-
ment of white crysanthemums
featuring a miniature tree with
Jack-O-Lanterns hanging from
the boughs and a witch stand-
ing at the side. Napkins also
were of the Halloween theme.
